You seem to not understand the matter. I was talking about the fact they didn't discuss an exit strategy earlier. Since they renewed Tek it was clear they wanted to ditch Stegen also. This isn't about Stegen not accepting competition as you are implying.

It's fear mongering more than anything to take the pressure off Xabi and a built in excuse if they don't start well and VARai can't bail them out with some Pinocchio edits.

A first team player cannot be demoted to a B team contract (because of his age and appearances for first team), and without a B contract he cannot play for them.

IIRC there is some regulation that a player has the right to compete for his spot in same conditions as other players, so for example you cannot let him train alone on the side of the pitch for a prolonged period as a punishment. In terms of improving fitness etc is a different case.

And I think there's a difference in Spain and England because the B team plays in a different pyramid in England, whereas it's in the same in Spain. So it's easier to drop down to English reserve sides to regain fitness.

That's the case if club has all the leverage. But if you are broke as Barca is and are having issues registering players, maybe the best approach would not be to resort to smearing trough the media?
