How the hell player can refuse this?? Haha
He can probably. And he would probably win in a civil court. Certainly an important civil right to refuse it.

Barca has many tools to retaliate though. La Liga should not punish Barca for something they can't control. For example. We wanted to prove Stegen is out for more than 4 months but couldn't. So our word should be taken instead. Good will is showed from our side.

The legal argument he is barricaded in is that his medical report contains personal information, and personal information cannot be circulated without consent

At the same time, though, his refusal to share medical report with LL (which is unprecedented), makes a serious cases for intent to inflict economic and financial harm to the club.

That's a great opportunity to sue him, and terminate his contract

Could be. Would be a big win for us. Will be curious what his possible explanation would be for not signing the document. Sounds quite hard to show good faith from Stegen's point of view. What is he worried about if La Liga finds out about the real extent of his injury? Surely he cannot say he did it to get back on the club for not being no1 anymore .

Very hard to argue for Stegen.

Thing is that this takes a lot of time.

The scumbag will get a small W if he manages to prevent the registration of any of the transfers

PS: Of course, that's primarily on the fat clown who runs the club like circus, he is still waiting from Crowe, and still hasn't reached 1:1 after 4 years

It takes time, but we have a case against La Liga I think if they deny us registration for something we legally can't do. La Liga can't ask Barcelona to infringe a player's right to not disclose his medical data.

They ask for his medical data, we can't give them that for reasons out of our control. Then what? I think they will allow us to deregister Stegen in an alternative way. Surely they must have some alternative rules in such cases. And if they don't, it's on them, not us.

Civil laws > La Liga's rules. We can't be punished for following a higer law.

Don't think so. It's more likely that he knows he is done and is lashing out. He can't be this dumb to think this approach is gonna get him his starting spot back.

No. He's done, he knows it, offers are non existent, not much to lose. People think he has this huge ambition to play at the world cup, but I don't see it. It's certainly not a 20-30m worth of ambition.

He's sitting on a good contract to milk out, so... he thinks he can afford to be a prick. We simply need to show him he can't.

All very predictable to me. If you don't have ambition and real confidence, but only a big chip on your shoulder, this is the logical approach for Stegen.

Stegen always put pressure in all the alternative ways except the one that requires the most confidence and the most quality to pull off. with Bravo, with Neuer at the Germany NT, now with this situation.
I'm not sure I'd call it predictable, if it's true. Fans are angry enough now that he's threatening to not sign the consent. If he actually goes through with it, fans will hate him. And if we register Garcia regardless, he will be hated and on the bench.

I'm surprised our captain, of all players, would behave this way. You had a good run, go out on good terms. It's not the clubs fault you've been riddled with injuries. What a shit way to ruin your image with the club and fans. Does he expect Garcia to not get registered, be out 3 months, then come back and have fans not hate him 🤷‍♂️

Should be pretty obvious.

"Data protection legislation, especially regarding a person's health data, states that a person has the right not to provide this information," warns sports law attorney Cristian Zarroca in a statement to SER Catalunya's "Què t'hi jugues." The situation would change, according to the lawyer, if the contract between the club and the player included a clause specifying the obligation to provide this information.

I'm sure any contract has clauses and penalties that occur when a player goes against the interest of his employer out of spite.

Even if he found some loophole in his contract and he is exploiting it for revenge, it may or may not hold in court.
