So, this is really happening.

Looks like it's Laporta who is behind this popular signing.

I am excited for having a new player but can't pretend we are signing someone who is world class. If I could pick, would rather we spent that money on a goalscoring machine (Gyokeres?) and use Fermin as backup LW.

On a positive side: Think Flick's risky system suits him more than classic positional Barca style.
Who is a better available option at LW than Nico? He will be one of the best LWs around for years. Bags of potential.

Take a look at this list and tell me if anyone placed after him at No.4 here is a clearly better LW than him.

He will cook here. Him and Flick are a natural fit.

Nico will cook here, he will actually have more space to operate in here, not less, with how athletic plays the opposition defenders will be set more often times than not, because the build up is slow and primarily focused on not being exposed while they build up.

Which is why they scored the least amount of goals in the top 7 and conceded the fewest, it is primarily a cautious first system.

Under flick ball or another top team, he will get more space to run into over the course of the season.

One thing I like about him is he knows when to take on his man and when to pass the ball, especially with Spain, with Athletic he's kind of force to try and beat his man more often because their is no better option.

At first they were talking about 12 million euros gross. Today Romano is writing about 14-16 million gross. What a disgrace if we really gave him more than 12 million euros

His gross salary at Bilbao was around 10-11m, so with Fabrizio's report, it should be around 14-16m if the net salary is 7-8m

It's logical cause he had suitors and so would demand an increase in his former salary to move.
Doesn't have to be an increase. We offer a lot more than Bilbao.
He can get his raise in the subsequent years, with performance bonuses, but in Barca we offer trophies which is the compensation you get.

Why the hell should I pay him so much more than Bilbao? Bilbao overpays more than 40% to their leaders so that they do not leave the team. Inaki Williams gets more than Alvarez. Is this normal?

It is an absolute disgrace, a failure, if we gave him a contract more than 12-12.5 million euros. An absolute disgrace
