He'd be a good signing for us. You have to take these options when they appear.

- knows the league
- plays in one of our weakest positions
- good age
- proven chemistry with most of our Spanish players
- potential for serious growth in the next seasons, but capable of contributing from day one
- seems like a good kid
- hungry for success
- fee is not outrageous for an Euro winner who scored in a final with great age
- quick and pacy, sounds like a good profile for us

How many of the other options check most of these? Probably nobody. There's Doue and Barcola at PSG but we're not getting those.

By the way, Inaki Williams' salary is 11.5 !!! million euros. Taking into account taxes in Bilbao, this is 6 million euros net. He receives only 1 million euros net less than Rafinha.

Why the hell should I pay him so much more than Bilbao? Bilbao overpays more than 40% to their leaders so that they do not leave the team. Inaki Williams gets more than Alvarez. Is this normal?

It is an absolute disgrace, a failure, if we gave him a contract more than 12-12.5 million euros. An absolute disgrace
I understand, however, players mostly get wage increases when moving between big clubs at this age.

Nico also had top clubs going after him, like Arsenal and Bayern (Bayern really wanted him). This gives his agent an edge when bargaining (as the agent, you would ask for an increase when you have top clubs after your player; it'll be dumb not to).

It's a similar reason why we gave Fati a good salary back then, and why Man Utd gave Sancho and Martial good salaries (different factors come into play during negotiations, and your agent's job is to get you a good deal). You could also argue that Barca should be able to counter his demands, but I would be more surprised if his agent just agreed to an increase from 10-11m to 12-12.5m, I wouldn't do that if i was the agent (too small with other clubs interested in him).

Now, he's almost here, he could be really vital

I think Nico will improve immensely at Barcelona.

He's good, but there's something missing at Bilbao. Better teammates, quicker play style and then Flicks immense attacking play should allow him to reach full potential here.

It's the signing we can make with the most upside. And I don't even like him that much as a player.

I think this is spot on. We have seen him play with Spain (with Barca basically hah). He fits in very well. He will do awesome job.

If he wants the money, let him go. Nico is not an ideal option. Bad first half of the season, average second, goals and assists statistics are sad, loses out to the bench midfielder Fermin in almost all advanced metrics, who gets 5 million gross. Why the hell should we fight so hard for him?

I'd expect him to not be paid as much as Raphinha from the start. That would be too much. He should earn max 1m more than he was on at Bilbao in terms of net figure.

People don't understand that having him, Raphinha, and Lamine means we have top quality starting wingers in case of injuries.

We rode our luck big time with Raphinha and Lamine last season....an injury to one of them and we would have ended up without the league and CDR.

I couldn't agree more and then we had to overplay then as well. Keep the players fresh. Manage everyone's minutes.
