It just shows how vital pace is in the modern game when a technically average player like Karim could pin Madrid back and was getting in on goal at will in that first half.

Utilising his pace was basically half of Dortmund's attacking tactics. He must have stamina issues, otherwise that's a terrible decision to take him off.

Barca have basically been playing with one hand tied behind their back for the last few years, with their lack of pace up top.

We have done it since Neymar left.

The donkey Dembele was almost never available for us in key CL games.

Don't worry the great Joan laporta will fix it this summer.

Raphinha showed us what a high intensity winger can do in the CL, we'll add that another this summer.

I can't figure him out, I was convinced he would be much further along by now but perhaps we are spoiled by the unprecedented trajectories of our own young players but Adeyemi is lethal

Him vs Nico. Who would you buy? He seems to be a better scorer.
But I have no clue.

It’s not even a question, has to be Nico - it’s the combination of his synergy with Lamine and outright LW strengths (speed and dribbling)

If I understood correctly Barca made attempts to sign him before he went to Dortmund and he rebuffed, now his buyout would make Nico‘s current fee a bargain

Ahh ok. On Transfermarket it was showing me 40m.

Nico is a no-brainer then if this guy is way more expensive than him.

But what if Nico keeps doing meh in Bilbao? We still go for him next summer if his whole season has been underwhelming? Not saying it will be, but just asking a hypothetical question... Sure good Euros etc, but he can't live of off that forever.

This guys has a goal in him. Very good signing with a lot of speed. He is lightweight but that is not so much of an issue in La Liga.
I haven't seen enough of him to know if he is good in big games such as CL quarter finals against top teams or RM in La Liga.
I do think he would score plenty in run of the mil games in La Liga. He has speed and a good shot on him.

Nico might regret not joining us this summer. He might have outgrown Bilbao and gone a little stale there.

Shame it couldn’t reduce his current & reasonable buyout fee but I am not the least bit concerned about his form in a Valverde side

These sort of on pitch connections between great talents, they are palpable even if you never played an organized sport. There is MSN level connection there that is a certainty. There is no ifs and or buts, Nico & Lamine can mark en era together - better they are joined at Barca to generate more than titles but an unforgettable footballing spectacle

Nico thrives on speed and wide directional play on the wings. Attributes that wont cut it with current Barca set up under Flick. Those jobs are reserved for the full backs. He will fail here woefully, except under a different system.

As much as I agree. And I don't want Nico if it means less of Raphinha. Believe he's currently better than Nico at least for Flick.

But if we get Nico, it's not like Flick will not change his tactics to suit him. Moreover, Nico is still young and will learn to become an inverted winger, especially under flick.
So having him is of no worries.
