Xavi was in 1/4 finals, Flick was in 1/2 finals. Not really drastic change, he's right. If we faced PSG in 1/4 finals last year we would get knocked out in the same stage as we did with Xavi. This is true in large part. But so what... at the top there's room for 4-5 teams at the same time anyway. The rest are part of the chasing pack, and those teams tend to lose in the bigger games one way or another. With our situation, are are far better than we should be.

There's no tragedy for not being able to make the last step until the finances really take a turn. Beating those sides with such low investments would be close to a miracle. We have brought this side to its max level I think. We aren't gonna move up from this point until some big signings happen.
