Football quality is low overall. In "Fifa language" there are 10 or more teams that have an 80ish rating but no one is clearly sitting above with a 90+ rating. Between Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Bayern, RM, Barca, AM, Inter, Juve, PSG, even down to Dortmund, Leverkusen or ManU, any team on their day can beat the other by 3 goals and one month later in the same matchup it could be the exact reverse - and it wouldn't be a big shock.

Every team is optimized to high pressing as well so if one team doesn't bringt their A game while the other does it can get ugly.

I wouldn't overanalyse this result. Culmination of horrible pitch, Atleti bringing their A+ game, complacency from Barca after a long stretch of good results and of course missing Pedri and Raphinha in these kind of games. It happens. You can also bet your ass if they didn't take 10 minutes to rule our goal offside as well as kill all momentum on our side, we'd have made this 4-2 and then it's easily doable at Camp Nou.

On the bright side, these results bring this forum alive. In recent weeks I thought there are only 5 people in here. Now this thread alone has almost hit 50 pages.

Oh, and then you got the low IQ crowd counting this as "no big win in a big game", yet when Barca mostly win these games it never counts for them because "it's only declined Atletico" and "shitty La Liga team, not prime Bayern". When it's a Barca loss it's suddenly a big game. Lovely logic.

This is true. Was thinking the same when I read malvolio post.

He talks about not beating strong teams but casually mentions Bayern, Real and Atletico.
Double standards always there.

Then forum should decide if it's a tragedy or we're the best team in the world.

It's neither. This should be fairly clear to everyone. Even the Bayern great win 4-1, things could've panned very differently in the first half where Bayern had 20-25 mins where they were creating chances easily and exposing us.

Xavi was in 1/4 finals, Flick was in 1/2 finals. Not really drastic change, he's right. If we faced PSG in 1/4 finals last year we would get knocked out in the same stage as we did with Xavi. This year it will be a miracle if we get to 1/2 finals again, don't think it will happen, we saw a glimpse of it yesterday.
Flick Barça would not be eliminated by that 23/24 psg side. They weren't nearly as strong as treble winning team

When Lewa last touched it that is, it's not a clean touch either. Imo he's off by a few cms. That's why I'm not that fussed about it. That and the score lol.
Why does it matter if Cubarsi is onside when Lewa touches it? Lewa is onside, and Cubarsi is behind him. That should be a legal pass regardless?!

I dont understand how the ball can come off a player who is onside, go to a teammate BEHIND HIM and somehow the play is offsides.

Cubarsi is on front of the ball.

Where Lewas back leg is doesnt matter.

Yes, it was a bad defeat, but it’s the copa, let’s finally digest it and move on now, atm is already practically out of the title race we’re not.

For the second leg… it’s going to be very difficult, and frankly I’m not even sure it’s worth risking injuries or wasting energy… but ok let’s see what happens in the first half.

Anyone understand Jam's explanation for offside?

He's saying point/location of rags' last touch of ball on his body determines offside and not rags' entire body excluding arms ofc?
