Xavi was offering excuses himself, Flick doesn't

It's a big difference

It is a fact that Xavi had a shit squad and it had no business competing with top teams, but saying that himself was sack worthy

Similarily if Flick now said "both of my strikers are morons, my defense is full of idiots, players are dropping like flies and I won't get a single player in transfer window" he wouldn't be lying at all. But it would be wrong

Yup!

Plus, Flick was frustrated the team did not play well
he was NOT frustrated he doesn't have money to buy new ones

Totally different.

It's funny how Xavi apologists find always fanciful ways to justify his whinism and overestimate him.

No, he is not on the same tier as Flick, and he will never be.
Both as a coach, and as a man

Obviously, Xavi's whining was as annoying as Flick's apologists

You're comparing Xavi whining in the press to some posts on this forum.

Xavi wasn't wrong about the lack of spending/funds, but saying that publicly is what cost him the job as Laporta was ready to keep him.

Xavi was right.

Said that the squad was not good enough two years ago and still the exact same defenders are at this club lmao!

At least Flick was able to make the midfield and attack work at a far better level than Xavi did.

Of course coaches will be demoralized here. Expected to compete for trophies against some of the best teams in Europe while having a non-existent budget and having idiots above them making foolish transfers and renewals.

Easily the hardest coaching job in Europe. Any manager would struggle to be consistently successful in this environment.

who is justifying Xavi's whining? he was rightfully sacked. All I'm pointing out is the hypocrisy from some fans.

What hypocrisy?

Most people said that Xavi should have had the team play better football, but at the same time we needed better players. It's just the public outbursts that was a terrible look. He made it sound like he was managing Valencia at times with his comments.

Need to keep that in-house.

The issue is the same as always. Lack of FFP room, money to spend on transfers and the wrong transfers being made.

If we cannot return back to operating normally in the transfer market by 2027 then it will be Laporta that will be under pressure, and you need to seriously consider a change in the ownership model as Real Madrid.

The manager won't even matter at that point because it is going to be impossible for us to compete at the highest level. Could have Pep or Lucho and it wouldn't matter.

Heck we need a couple of CBs, a RB and Striker in 2026 and we're probably going to get one or two good players max.

Go back few pages on this thread or the multiple player threads. I cant be bothered to. Not trying to convince you or anyone.

Flick said it, he got emotional because of all the lost balls in midfield. There are no subs for Frenkie and Pedri. The club never addressed the DM situation after Busquets and ran under the illusion Casado and Bernal could operate like they are not Tercera level players.

Those two aren't making us win that game much more If any at all more comfortably than we did yesterday, especially in the 2nd half.

He's just looking for an excuse if that's what he said.

Flick better not be imploding... nothing is lost yet, Madrid are bad also. At least in Spain we have good chances to do something.

We are first place at the minute. No time for crying.

Both Bernal and Casado had a poor performance yesterday, and Olmo is still not delivering his best.

Why would a well playing midfield not make the win more comfortable? Fewer turnovers, and more control = less transitions for the defence to deal with?
More possesion, and better more creative players = a better setup for our attackers to score goals?

Isn't exactly rocket science

Unless you think FDj and Pedri isn't an upgrade on Casado and Bernal??

Note I said especially in the 2nd half when we were in complete control?.

But regardless of that we won the game 3-1.

When was the last time having Pedri & De Jong stopped us from conceding goals for fun or giving up chances again? please reminded us. Smh.

I would love to hear it.
