I find this comment very rare and confusing. You say Xavi was nobody until Deco and such went away, then jumping 6 years into the future he was again nobody. You are skipping a big chunk of history to prove a point. Good luck with that.

You're not wrong but tell me why we compare Prime 2009 Barca to the great Milan sides of the past? Does it make logical sense to compare teams assembled in different eras? No. But it's still a lot of fun so we do it.

You can make exactly the same arguments against Iniesta.
Both Xavi and Iniesta were nowhere near their peak levels pre 2008/pre Pep.
Folks using that as a stick to beat Xavi with when Iniesta went through the same career graph is hilarious.
