Good deal for real, he is exactly the type of defender that

Albiol
Pepe
Ramos

needs to play beside to really excel. The only thing that would have been better is david luiz

Wasn't Mourinho going to give the canteranos a shot? Getafe must be happy with how much attention Real pays to their cantera.

First Jose never said that , he will give a canteranos a shot considering our average is ridiculously low if anything we do need some experience
+ We don't have a single good CB in the cantera.. so don't jerk off just yet ;)
it's one of the positions we failed to introduce a single quality player since 1980 (Manolo Sanchiz ) .. on the contrary to your youth team who always produced quality CB

And if we are talking about what Jose did said he actually said he loves players with experience who can give 2 years of their best that's why we were linked with Gerrard and co
really don't see why Real needed another CB. You guys already have Albiol, Garay and Pepe in that position and the option to play Arbeloa as RB and Ramos as CB. Why not go for a reliable LB to compete with Arbeloa instead of a 4th CB?

Pepe out for 3 weeks and just in case you didn't notice Maicon deal was broken and u cannot enter the season with 3 CB
2 players for each position .. it's not a rocket science
Maybe the latest injury to Pepe has forced their hand

Indeed

Carvalho is a very experienced CB and considering our current average age must be the lowest from all the big boys and the oldest in the team is Iker who is 28/29.. some experience is needed
and for 8 Mil it's quite good signing .. 2 years max out of him is fine by me for this price

Panic buy.
O kaay ? :ibra:

Quite unexpected, informed and confirmed within an hour. Good buy. I think that closes the window for Madrid unless Perez wants to put a mark to his policy of unlimited transfer budget. Gives more depth and experience in defence. Another Mourinho buy. Can't believe how much his reputation changed Perez's policies.

Of course it was a panic buy. Thiago Silva and Vidic rejected Madrid, and Madrid couldn't afford Maicon or Luiz, with the window approaching he was the last chance.

This was not unexpected from a Chelsea point of view. It's why the club did not let Mancienne go to Wolves.

And I would guess it means another signing is on the cards.

Deco out - Ramires in |(subject to work permit). Ricky out - ???? in

By this concept every single purchase in the world is a panic buy

Not a panic buy considering Caravalho was several time mentioned as a possible buy for Real in the last 2 month , definitely not our first choice but not a panic buy

Panic buy. *facepalm*

The man is still on of the best experienced CBs in the world and still could give the team what it needs in defence. It's exactly what defensive line of Madrid needs - experience. The oldest defender we have is Arbeloa(?) and how can that ensure solid defence ? We need someone who Pepe, Albiol and Garay can look up to and learn some tricks from, someone just like Carvalho who can still compete with them for the place in the first team. Competition and a source of experience is what this transfer was about, not about getting 4th CB, because the rest rejected. The window is 20 bloody days away and there is still plenty of time for negotations, if the transfer was made on 25th then it could have been considered as 'the last chance', but now Carvalho has some more time to fit in, to get to know his defensive partners and to create solidity that team needed to have at the back. Maicon wouldn't provide the same things Carvalho can.

Carvalho is Terry's last allie from the days when he was actually good , Carvalho and Makalele were Terry's protectors back in the Mourinho era , when Makalele left Terry's form has dipped , it also coencided with Carvalho's injury problems. If Ancelotti has any desire to improve , he must get rid of Terry as soon as possible , Chelsea should have bitten Man Citys hand of last year when they offered 40 million for him.

On Madrid , the first choice centre back pairing , one would assume being Carvalho and Pepe , both are very similair players in as much as they prefer a sweepers type of roll with a more dominant type centre half in front off them , i wonder which of the two players Mourinho will convert into the dominant type player. Pepe , if Mourinho works on him , and drums his ideas into him every single training session , has the potential to be the best , he has everything a centre back needs , just needs a few areas of his game worked on , very interesting stuff from Jose.

One of the best defenders in my opinion from all those " big names". He always stood out in my opinion. He got all what a CB needs, he still has two-three seasons in him. Besides Real Madrid need an experienced defender like him. Anyway, 8 million might be a fair price, but is huge for me with all our free transfers.

We can safely assume that Ricardo will be Jose right hand man on the pitch considering their history .
pragmatic manager think the same , Capello with Emerson and Jose with Ricardo given the later is 100 times better than Emerson

and a big lol @ Maicon agent " Florentino can reopen the negotiations with Inter , it's not over yet anything can happen" .. how the tables have turned now he is running after the deal to go through

not a panic buy. But a signing that is creating panic.

Not really. It all comes down to his performance on the pitch: Will he be a Cannavaro or a Larsson, Emerson or an edgar davids (In terms of last bit of juice transfers). Madrid will love him if he turns out to be a great addition and earns a starting spot, madrid will hate him if he turns out to be an expensive (what does his wage look like, anyways?) flop.
