According to Fab, on his Social media, Nico has informed the club he wants to go to Barca.

Good that he's showing more ambition that his brother, who for a two year gap, was linked to many top teams across Europe.

But anyways NICOOO, here we go, the 2nd coming of dinho, who everyone knew was going to be an all time great for the very second Barca signed him from PSG.

How much was Leao asking for as a salary?

Does anyone know?

Not really can't it couldn't be more than Nico, most likely a bit less since he's currently making less at Milan I assume.

He should go to Bayern.

But there is a reason no one is linked with him or the sporting striker, clubs don't want to take that risk unless they have no other choice

I am just trying to figure out who would be cheaper to take into account when considering wages as a factor.
Leao has a attitude problem maybe that's why.
And Gyokeres is having problems with his club. Sporing wants about 90m for him, while Gyok says they had an agreement for 75m.

Don't forget his biggest problem, laziness on the pitch. No way would Flick condone him not tracking back and that kind of shit. He's way too inconsistent and prone to disappearing through games in the attacking sense, which could be condoned, if he did his job in defense, but he doesn't.

Anyway, his radical style reminds me of Dembele way too much, so even though he could be great in ideal conditions, I feel like Nico is the safer bet, especially since his integration into the team should be seamless and should develop real chemistry with Yamal and Pedri (which are the most important) almost immediately.

And not to be superstitious, but Portugal players really haven't worked out in Barca for as long as I can remember. Meanwhile last time we had a real Spanish core, we dominated the world.

Yooo  But honestly B-man, I'm not THAT fucking excited by Nico - BUT I think he's a good player who will improve under Flick.

Will improve his numbers no doubt. And there's a valid claim he has some right qualities to fit in Flick's system.

He will not replicate Raphinha's numbers or his off the ball grit. You can take this to the bank.

So, in short. We could add some extra cash and get a goalscoring machine that would improve us instantly.

Local media in Bilbao have also confirmed it.
Athletic will apparently "closely monitor" that we follow La Liga FFP
Who the fuck do these clowns think they are.

What are they going to do about it?

Do they think if we are over budget in La Liga's FFP after we pay his clause it means "Oh the transaction is cancelled!" Yeah Bullshit that's no how things are going to work.

Or they are going to try and take us to court over it which again won't work either. There's one word to describe it.

COPE

Once the club pays the clause, there's nothing they can do. They spent a lot of time trying to convince him to renew, and by all accounts, Nico was the one who came to us and wanted to join and leave Bilbao and we decided to pursue the option.

Can't be mad at us because we decided to go for Nico after he told us he wanted to come.

Like who? And please don't say Gyokeres and embarrass yourself. Cause fucking Bas Dost was scoring for fun for Sporting too...

Meanwhile world class strikers like Haaland and Isak aren't available right now. Both actually have better chances to leave next summer, when we are probably planning to buy a long term striker. Haaland (especially if Pep leaves), and Isak (my preferred option actually) if Newcastle don't take a step forward either in the league or the UCL, which is both very likely.

There are slim pickings on the striker's market right now. With Lewandowski staying for one last year no matter what I'd actually love for us to go developmental and grab Šeško (partly because he's also my country man, and the other part because I think he's the most similar to Lewandowski in physique and play style and him coming here and learning under his tutelage for a year before he'd take over next season would actually be fire!), but even for him Leipzig won't take less than 80M, which he's simply not worth. Not to mention apparently he's also got ridiculous wage demands, considering even Arsenal couldn't reach an agreement with him and have seemingly pulled out and are going for Gyokeres now.

As far as not worth 75-80M, same goes for Gyokeres. Meanwhile the likes of Haaland, Isak or even Alvarez in addition of being unattainable right now, would all cost well over 100M, if not 120M each.

I think they really sold him the dream EL final at San Mames schtick and out of love for the club he fell for it, cause he wanted to win something with his club so much before he moved on. I think he was the most disappointed of them all with how that semifinal against United turned out.

And then to make matters worse he saw us balling under Flick for the whole season and see us win everything in Spain, which in hindsight made his decision not to come last year even more stupid. Not to mention how much better off we'd also be, cause in that case we wouldn't have even bought Olmo, (who'd probably be Pep's replacement for KDB instead of Cherki and his injury prone ass would've been City's problem), while Fermin would've most likely turned into an even bigger beast by now, maybe he'd even already be on par with Cubarsi and Balde's level of important for us, if he had played all those games instead of Olmo last season.

If we return to Nico, now even his brother and mom can't manipulate him into staying anymore, he knows if he wants to make that next step, he needs us just as much as we need him. And we're really his only option, since he seems to be really attached to his family and even leaving Bilbao is a pain for him, much less leaving Spain altogether.
