i dont think marmite can be described, i cant even say why its so good but it is!

if hamsock doesnt like it, it almost makes me like it more.

The best description me and my friends could come up with is like a thicker soy sauce. I think it tastes like soy sauce mixed with rubber.

The aussie equivalent is Vegemite, it's basically a savoury spread, very salty, really nice with Rye or Sourdough and even White, toast it heaps, melt the butter, chuck on a big spread of Vegemite and YUMEH IN MEH TUMEH

If you have ever had twiglets, it is the closest example I can think of, of a food which tastes slightly similar.
