Jose Enrique

Jose Enrique is definitely leaving Newcastle this transfer window. Jose has let rip on twitter about the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and what many Newcastle fans have suspect for a long time. That we are being lied to by those in charge of the club and that their intention is just to sell all our best players for a huge profit and replace them on the cheap.

Enrique lifts the lid on Newcastle Owner Mike Ashley's regime!

Enrique: Newcastle board ‘lie all the time’ about sales

By Sam Wallace

Monday, 25 July 2011

Jose Enrique last night launched a stinging attack on Mike Ashley’s Newcastle United regime, claiming via Twitter that the club was intent on selling their best players and suggesting that he too is leaving.

Enrique, 25, who has been a summer transfer target for Liverpool , accused the board of selling key players like Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan and said that the club “lie all the time”. Having originally gone on a no-holds-barred attack, he appeared to have second thoughts and deleted his account.

He posted three critical tweets in Spanish culminating in two more in English, the last of which read: “They [the board] don't want spend in [sic] the club and bring quality players that's why everybody go.”

Enrique posted the tweets just after the team landed last night in Columbus, Ohio , ahead of their game against Columbus Crew tomorrow – the third of their US tour. Earlier in the day, Joey Barton had also announced via Twitter that he would not be signing a new deal having been linked yesterday with a move to Manchester United

Enrique tweeted in Spanish: “The club is letting major players go. Do you seriously think that is the fault of the players?” Later he added: “The club is never going to fight to be in the top six if it keeps up this policy.” And then: “I believe that you fans are the best and you deserve the best, not what they are doing with the club. Thank you all for supporting me.”

Subsequent to that, Enrique tweeted in English that the club “lie all the time”. Soon after the tweets were deleted and, following that, the rest of the account but not before team-mate Wayne Routledge had tweeted that he agreed with Enrique. Enrique has a year left on his existing deal but no new contract has been agreed yet. The club are fearful of losing him for nothing next summer.

Enrique had begun his posts by saying that he shared the frustrations of Barton who had also hinted at problems within the club. Barton, 28, who was linked with a possible move to Manchester United over the weekend, has turned down the club’s offer of a new two-year deal, and will be a free agent next summer.

Barton tweeted yesterday: “I will most likely leave Newcastle at end of season, when my contract expires and I am no longer employed. It’s out of my hands.” Barton is not on the club’s US tour having been denied a visa because of his criminal record. Instead he is in Holland with the club’s reserve side. The Newcastle team in the US lost 1-0 to Orlando City in Florida on Saturday.

Alan Pardew said after the game in Florida that he expected to have to replace Enrique this summer. The reserve team left-back Paul Dummett, a Wales under-21 international, has been called out to America to join up with the squad. Enrique was warned by the club for tweeting about an injury last year

Pardew said: “I think Joey will be here. He has said all along that he wants to stay and I want him to stay so there is no conflict there. His contract could get resolved, but probably not until it runs out. But if he has another year like he did last year, then we will be pitching for him with everyone else, and he’ll be in the box seat then, which is where Joey wants to be. We had a week with him before we came away and he looked one of the best in terms of conditioning.”

“We are trying to do some business because we need to cover ourselves in the left-back area between now and the closure of the transfer window, regardless of what happens with Enrique. We tried to bring in Neil Taylor from Swansea and we’ll try to get somebody else. The worst thing for us would be if Enrique went late on during the window, that’s the problem.

“We have had no bids for him, I can confirm that. We have offered him the best contract that has been offered to anyone here for a long while, and we cannot do any more really.”

I am Leg End
We are apparently very close now to signing Jose Enrique.

The fee will be around £6m.

BUT................Chelsea are also now interested in him.

I keep hearing different fees. One newspaper says 6 million pounds and another Newspaper says a fee of 10 million pounds has been agreed with Liverpool for Enrique.

I wouldn't worry about Chelsea, as Jose would have Ashley Cole infront of him meaning he wouldn't get as much playing time as he deserves which would be ridiculous. Especially because Enrique was miles better than Ashley Cole last season.

If Liverpool push the deal through, they truly do have the BEST left back in the Barclays Premier League and the one with the most natural talent.

EVERY fan knows that's not true. Evra and Cole are the best left backs in the world... And the PL. Baines is much better than Enrique. Ask yourself.. Why did Enrique stay at Newcastle for so long? Because that's his level. He's what.. 25/26? Liverpool will be getting a decent left back for 6 million. Don't make out he's the best in his position, because we know that isn't true. I'm not saying he's rubbish, but he's clearly overrated by the Newcastle fans.. If every Newcastle fan shares the same opinion as you do.

Most natural talent? LOL! He hardly has any talent.

Yep the typical reply of a fan who has hardly watched Newcastle this season and sees a left back scoring goals like Baines and automatically think that Baines is better than all other left backs who don't score goals.

Jose Enrique played better than Ashley Cole and Evra last season! that is FACT!

No defender in the Premier League defended better than Jose Enrique last season, not Cole, not Evra not Baines! Forgive me if I'm wrong but what is a Left Back's first and foremost priority? Is it not to DEFEND? Because if it is Jose Enrique did that better than any other Left Back in the Premier League last season.

But oh Baines must be much better than him because he scores goals, it doesn't matter if Baines is not very good at DEFENDING! Who cares about defending when you are a Left BACK!

You can laugh at my earlier statment but Newcastle fans everywhere will know exactly what I'm talking about.

Liverpool have just signed the best left back in the Premier League IMO! They will see it first hand next season and know what I'm talking about. NO ONE EVER gets past Jose Enrique and from a defender that is the most important thing you want. he's fantastic going forwward, he just lacks the goals to add icing to the cake that is his fantastic mazy forward dribbles that Messi would be proud of. What other left back gets their name sung as loud as Messi just for amazing defending, amazing ball retention and accurate passing out the back while under huge pressure consistently? I sincerely do not know.

Ask yourselves, what gets noticed more, fantastic defensive play or goals? and that is the reason why many of you WRONGLY think Baines is a better left back than Enrique and why you think he sucks and is average because he comes from a club like Newcastle. That is the logic of Ignoramouses.

 i mean what? is all you see of Jose Enrique at newcastle the 2 games Newcastle play against Man United and 9 minute clips of Match of the Day each week? No wonder people have the misconception that Baines is a better defender/Left Back and that Jose Enrique is average. LOL

Jose Enrique is in the top 5 left backs in the EPL...

Ashley Cole, Leighton Baines & Patrice Evra are all much better than him though...
