Then again, it’s not like he had to sell some of the club’s assets to get the required money to make those signings. Another thing, Barcelona besides that summer didn’t make a big summer in the entire Laporta reign. It reached a point where our only summer transfer was Romeu which cost as €4.3m euros in Summer 2023, next summer it was only Olmo given it cost us €60m and the summer after that, it was Joan and Roony with cost us a combined €27m.
Compared to our biggest rivals, signing the best player in the world last summer after winning their 2nd UCL in 3 years, and then proceeding to spend over €150m euros the next summer. It really makes you question how are we competing, what you need to know is perspective. We were so damaged by Bartomeu as he haemorrhaged the club’s money, resulting in registration issues and the greatest player in our history leaving for free even after offering to cut his salary by 50%. And still even after earning €638m, €800m and €763m over the next 3 seasons, we still couldn’t get over those issues due to us finally having the ambition to rebuild our stadium.
Also regarding the UCL, I agree we should have been in the final, but the good thing is over the seasons, we have only been seeing linear progression, from group stages to quarter finals then semi finals, it makes you now think if we will win it next season, how I see it, you need experience to progress and finally win trophies. Our core is very young, so they had to experience their first set of UCL games in the group stages, we finally made a big breakthrough in 23-24, where we reached quarter finals although everyone knows we should’ve reached the semis but Araujo got that red card, in 24-25, more progression followed under a better manager as we won the domestic treble and were minutes away from the final, what separated us was inexperience and naivity that ensued after we finally took the lead in the tie with just 3 minutes to play of normal time.
Laporta did an amazing job to say the least, in an era where our biggest rivals had a renaissance under Ancelotti built on individual brilliance by Benzema, Vinicius and Bellingham. Now for 2025-26, I really think it will be our year and we will hopefully lift that beautiful cup come May the 30th in Budapest.

I recognize Madrid as overall the best club, but when Barcelona gets it together in the last 30-40 years, we tend to humble you. It's part of history and a big part of how this rivalry plays out.
The difference is that institutionally and on the long run, Madrid are run more cohesively. We'll see after Florentino retires or dies.

Kylian Mbappe: France forward signs Real Madrid contract to join on free transfer
Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain when the La Liga transfer window opens on 1 July.www.bbc.com
Still cheaper than Coutinho and co.. hehe.
In reality its around 100m, amortized through the length of the contract. In todays market, thats peanuts.
If only i had has access to such higher Serghei thinking back in the day in the good old days of Barca`s golden generation. Knowing that Barca had much higher position than RM, would make things much more easier! 5:0 - La Manita! No problemo! Barca has the higher ground! Swooosh.
Jokes aside. Despite your attempts, Barca still had quality to beat Madrid. And they did. Nothing strange let alone hilarious about it. Its the usual day in the world of football. That being said, you have much bigger issue considering the core of your argument is financial one. And when we actually look at finances, you see this:
1. Since Flo returned to Madrid, Barca and Madrid have roughly the same spending.
2. If you are botherd by such long period. Since 17/18 till Laporta returning in 21, Barca has outspent RM.
3. Since 21 - which is the actual starting point for Laporta, he spent the same as Flo did. The 130M difference in spending is due to current transfer window.
Not exactly austerity for Barca / Laporta.
Flo is trembling, lol. Its like listening U9 arguments.
Look no further than the ‘Captain’, your attempts to pile on Laporta failed…againThere shouldn't have been this mess in first place.
These things had to be resolved privately and not got dragged through media.
Half of those or more were trash. "Every signing"We got Iñigo on a free and had this player option in his contract at 34 years of age to be able to leave on a free - he earned his free exit. You're having a laugh Bojan
Every signing since Laporta took over again in his 2nd term has made this team better, when's the last time a club could say that?
