Also regarding the UCL, I agree we should have been in the final, but the good thing is over the seasons, we have only been seeing linear progression, from group stages to quarter finals then semi finals, it makes you now think if we will win it next season, how I see it, you need experience to progress and finally win trophies. Our core is very young, so they had to experience their first set of UCL games in the group stages, we finally made a big breakthrough in 23-24, where we reached quarter finals although everyone knows we should’ve reached the semis but Araujo got that red card, in 24-25, more progression followed under a better manager as we won the domestic treble and were minutes away from the final, what separated us was inexperience and naivity that ensued after we finally took the lead in the tie with just 3 minutes to play of normal time.

Laporta did an amazing job to say the least, in an era where our biggest rivals had a renaissance under Ancelotti built on individual brilliance by Benzema, Vinicius and Bellingham. Now for 2025-26, I really think it will be our year and we will hopefully lift that beautiful cup come May the 30th in Budapest.

How can you say that a team that basically admitted last season that they can't play without referees helping them, is the ' best club ' ? They are the only club in the history of football that has to have all the referees supporting them, League Presidents working for them, and the League's disciplinary committee minimising all their suspensions.

Would Mbappe's 1 game suspension for leg breaking challenge happen anywhere else in the world ?? Ever ??? In the history of football ??? How can you respect that ??

And it was even worse in the past. Famous videos of referees awarding Madrid penalties against Barca just for Madrid players running in to the penalty area without nobody near them.

Let's not forget either the infamous moment when Franco's generals threatened to murder Barca players families before a Copa del Rey tie, if they won. A match that Madrid fans celebrate as one of their best ever wins.

And don't even get me started on their European Cup scam. A competition they invented and folk are dumb enough to think they don't get favourable treatment. Even their final back in the 60's against Fiorentina is a historic robbery. They were allowed to pick their referee and opponents for the first 5 wins before that as well.

There has never been a club closer to UEFA than Real Madrid.

Until they play on a FAIR and LEVEL playing field like every other club in the world has to, they should not be considered as anywhere near the biggest club.

Payment is made over x number of years, still cost the paying club X dollars.

100m+ signing bonus for Mbappe + Bellingham

220 on two players alone, minimum.

it's cool though at least you lucked out with Vini for one season.

Jokes aside. Despite your attempts, Barca still had quality to beat Madrid. And they did. Nothing strange let alone hilarious about it. Its the usual day in the world of football. That being said, you have much bigger issue considering the core of your argument is financial one. And when we actually look at finances, you see this:

1. Since Flo returned to Madrid, Barca and Madrid have roughly the same spending.
2. If you are botherd by such long period. Since 17/18 till Laporta returning in 21, Barca has outspent RM.
3. Since 21 - which is the actual starting point for Laporta, he spent the same as Flo did. The 130M difference in spending is due to current transfer window.

Not exactly austerity for Barca / Laporta.

And now you turn the argument to Bartomeu's disastrous financial handling of the club. You're in Laporta thread mate. The discussion is about what Laporta managed to achieve so quickly after being handed with probably the biggest pile of excrements from the previous board.

Btw, in those calculations of yours, "he spent the same as Flo did", did you count the 100-150m bonus Madrid paid to Mbappe to get him to sign as a free agent? I think not. You added zero transfer cost for him probably. Mbappe was anything but a free transfer in reality.

Madrid fans have some unreal hatred on Laporta, probably because of the dream team he built in late 00s.

Most hilarious thing is that Barcelona net spend since 2021/22 under Laporta is 3m. I'm sure Madrid's is the same if I do the calculation.

And none of that Mbappe was free bullshit. Sign on bonus is a transfer fee you pay to the player directly instead of the club.

Really good handling of the MATS situation in the end. He let him have a meaningless speech, captain band and fictional #1 for Gamper so his ego healed and Laporta got the signiture he needed, now back in the trash bin when the cameras stopped. Even though MATS didn't deserve it, it was the smartest thing to do to keep good atmosphere in the team and less controversy. He played him beautifully.

Kinda cringe to think Mats put on the captain's armband in the dressing room just for a speech lol. He didn't have it last year in comparison, neither did Messi or Iniesta prior.

Had to release Inigo for free, has to have Ter Stegen injured for months and still not sure.
