2 big titles in 3 years mate while fighting tooth and nail to register players. Don't think non Barca fans want to see Laporta Barca with 200m to spend like Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea or the others.

Don't care if some admit it or not, but Barcelona under a great president is pretty much the only side in the world who could have pulled it off. Spending modest money and being one of the best sides in Europe.

Should have been distant 2nd best to Madrid based on spending and we made them our lap dog last season.

You make it sound as if Laporta did not spend 350M since his return, which in comparison to Madrid is 130M+ less. And that difference is due to current transfer window with Madrid spending 168M. Without 2025, spending between Madrid and Barcelona is essentially the same. So, with all do respect mate, what exactly are you talking about?

Barca invested substantial cash in current squad, while at the same time lucked out massively with not only Yamal, but also Raphinha and co. playing absolutely above their level. Not to mention the characteristics of a season in which Madrid had historically shitty defense, while City and co. absolutely crumbling.

In reality you should have played CL final and contested PSG for it.

The hell are you talking about?

Madrid in 2022 had a squad that won CL + La Liga. So Florentino had a squad that won CL, while Laporta inherited a squad that got trashed to bits in Europe. From this starting point, Florentino spend more while from a much higher position, and Laporta still beat him.

If Barcelona socios aren't dumb as a rock, which I question really, maybe we will see Laporta Barca vs Florentino Madrid battle it out on equal finances. Last time this happened, Barcelona swept the floor with Madrid.

To be honest, he swept the floor with Madrid last season even while struggling to register players.

Lucked out with yamal, lucked out with raphinha šŸ˜‚.

Did we luck out with Cubarsi, fermin, balde, gavi?

I didn't even have to use the greats because it's such a retarder point.

it's not luck when you do it 2,3,4 times then a couple a more times.

Ignores 100m signing bonus to Mbappe, if not more.

Bellingham and Mbappe alone, at the very minimum 220m on two players.

Madrid shitty defense, city crumbling etc.

Should we take away points from Perez and the likes for winning, when Barca also crumbled and had a even worse defense? Or it doesn't count then.

Because we all know what happens to Madrid when both teams are on equal Footing over the last two decades, it's never pretty for the whites.

So should be take away points from Perez and Madrid for winning when we sucked and had even more issues than "historical bad defense".

The people need to know

Jesus Christ laporta haters or those who try to take away from his accomplishment make it easy.

I recognize Madrid as overall the best club, but when Barcelona gets it together in the last 30-40 years, we tend to humble you. It's part of history and a big part of how this rivalry plays out.

The difference is that institutionally and on the long run, Madrid are run more cohesively. We'll see after Florentino retires or dies.

Then again, it’s not like he had to sell some of the club’s assets to get the required money to make those signings. Another thing, Barcelona besides that summer didn’t make a big summer in the entire Laporta reign. It reached a point where our only summer transfer was Romeu which cost as €4.3m euros in Summer 2023, next summer it was only Olmo given it cost us €60m and the summer after that, it was Joan and Roony with cost us a combined €27m.

Compared to our biggest rivals, signing the best player in the world last summer after winning their 2nd UCL in 3 years, and then proceeding to spend over €150m euros the next summer. It really makes you question how are we competing, what you need to know is perspective. We were so damaged by Bartomeu as he haemorrhaged the club’s money, resulting in registration issues and the greatest player in our history leaving for free even after offering to cut his salary by 50%. And still even after earning €638m, €800m and €763m over the next 3 seasons, we still couldn’t get over those issues due to us finally having the ambition to rebuild our stadium.

Also regarding the UCL, I agree we should have been in the final, but the good thing is over the seasons, we have only been seeing linear progression, from group stages to quarter finals then semi finals, it makes you now think if we will win it next season, how I see it, you need experience to progress and finally win trophies. Our core is very young, so they had to experience their first set of UCL games in the group stages, we finally made a big breakthrough in 23-24, where we reached quarter finals although everyone knows we should’ve reached the semis but Araujo got that red card, in 24-25, more progression followed under a better manager as we won the domestic treble and were minutes away from the final, what separated us was inexperience and naivity that ensued after we finally took the lead in the tie with just 3 minutes to play of normal time.

Laporta did an amazing job to say the least, in an era where our biggest rivals had a renaissance under Ancelotti built on individual brilliance by Benzema, Vinicius and Bellingham. Now for 2025-26, I really think it will be our year and we will hopefully lift that beautiful cup come May the 30th in Budapest.

Laporta humbled Madrid last season, and they responded in a typical fashion. 250m worth of players signed. We'll see if this is enough to stop the beatdowns next season.

Last season we were better tactically and collectively while they struggled with finding the right balance. Injuries to Carvajal and Militao didn't help them either.
