Returning to the stadium mid-construction was always the plan. It's not something that Laporta conjured in the past months to get some sort of W. I don't even see his biggest stans praising him, this return isn't something out of thin air, it's a much anticipated step. It could've happened months ago or 6 months from now. It was always happening before the elections and it was always going to be with limited capacity.

I have no problems with returning to the Camp Nou now rather than a year ago. I know construction takes time and some delays are expected. I would be totally fine if they would say from the start (when the works started) our goal is to return (in limited capacity) for the start of this season. And when they would see that's not possible then they could delay until end of 2025/start of 2026 where we are now. It wouldn't be great but I could accept that.
But what I expect from the president is to be transparent and honest. Don't set unrealistic deadlines or sell false hope to the fans you are responsible to. And even worse don't do that again and again. Delaying the return 5 or 6 times (I've lost the count but basically every time Laporta or Elena Fort opened their mouth - when they were not eating, lol - they've moved the date a few weeks or months in future; not to even mention that campaign with loudspeakers to officially announce the return that never happened
) in one year it's laughable and destroys your credibility. How can you still believe a person who consistently lies to you? And yes, it's a lie if you say we'll return then and then and when that date comes you can see we are not even close.

But yes it was a bad look for him to say we would return X date, without first having every I dotted and every T crossed.
That as always been a valid criticism as even his fans had said.
But redeveloping the stadium and everything that's goes with that. Outweighs any "lie" he told about the return date.

Criticizing Laporta for returning into a half-built Camp Nou, instead of playing 4-5 years in the Montjuic must be in the top3 of the most stupidest posts I've ever read here.
The fans love it, the players love it, it's better for the finances, it gives us the home advantage back. Conclusion: It must be bad to return (from a Madrid point of view).

About everything, be it the stadium, the finances, the 1:1, the transfers, the coaches.
This man's second nature is lying.
