Aye... a player who broke records of productivity in CL is nothing like Di Maria who scored 20 goals in a CL season. You put Raphinha in a team comparable to the ones Di Maria played in and he is a multiple CL winner easily as a main man.

Sure he doesn't have the finesse and technical quality of Di Maria, but Di Maria also didn't have the workrate, the stamina, the sense of sacrifice of Raphinha. What you want is to look at how each player uses his style and what he has to offer and put it on the line for the team.

And Raphinha is easily a player that makes a difference at the highest level.

Barca and Madrid have spent billions over the past decades. And Atletico still doesn't have the same pull as those two when it comes to getting players. Not to forget that they don't pay like Barca and Madrid do.
