Raphinha ain't no Rivaldo, Maradona, R9 or even Di Maria(these are all the comparisons that I've seen today on the forum). Nobody will cry if he misses out on a CL, he'll barely be remembered in the long run anyway.

Aye... a player who broke records of productivity in CL is nothing like Di Maria who scored 20 goals in a CL season. You put Raphinha in a team comparable to the ones Di Maria played in and he is a multiple CL winner easily as a main man.

Sure he doesn't have the finesse and technical quality of Di Maria, but Di Maria also didn't have the workrate, the stamina, the sense of sacrifice of Raphinha. What you want is to look at how each player uses his style and what he has to offer and put it on the line for the team.

And Raphinha is easily a player that makes a difference at the highest level.

What a pathetic thing to say. Not even most madridistas would denigrate Raph. Take your meds.

He's not the best player at his club and not best player at his NT. So let's cut the crap about him being main man and a multiple CL winner. He's miles behind Rivaldo and at least a level behind Di Maria.
But go on, count the stats in an era of CL where there are more games, more minutes played each game and more goals scored in general, if that makes you happy.

They have spent 300 million plus. Any team that spends like that should be in the conversation.
Barca and Madrid have spent billions over the past decades. And Atletico still doesn't have the same pull as those two when it comes to getting players. Not to forget that they don't pay like Barca and Madrid do.
Tottenham can spend 300mil in a window. Does that make them title contenders vs Pep's City.
We all know who Atletico are. They've nicked two leagues in the last 30 years. Some scary shit right there!
