Tactical Analysis breaking Down Barcelona’s Defensive Issues this season, with possible solutions

Good analysis and I agree with the points but have no hope Flick wil adjust. He'll continue with non stop press and high line and it could cost him his job this season. The players are getting lazy, we have a worse team than last season (except gk of course), the opponents are figuring out our tactics, it's hard to imagine Rapha and Lewa repeat last season, Madrid is better than last year... We are not far from top teams, we would just need a little adjustment in some parts of games but Flick is too radical and he won't do it.

I think a manager with a style somewhere in the middle of Xavi and Flick would be best for us. His name is Luis Enrique.

Most leagues are two horse races, or even less. It's just that La Liga has 2 top 3 clubs and the two horses remain the same.

In both seasons where Liverpool won EPL they ran alone ffs.

The point is more than the you know with most certainty it will be Barca or Real at the beginning of each season.

Last season even Liverpool fans were not expecting to be in the race for most part.

Yea, but it's Barca and Real. Just a look at the players who kicked it off on Camp Nou and Bernabeu could make one dizzy.

Still, in EPL it was City or Liverpool affair for how long exactly? When did Chelsea win under Conte? Almost 10 years ago? Hell, Atletico won 4 years ago.

The ascendancy in EPL can change, but LaLiga will never under the current model, only Barca, Real and somewhat Atletico have the revenue to be able to compete at the highest level.

City and Liverpool with Arsenal being up there as challengers also in last few years.

City then fall and almost fail to finish top 4 as Liverpool did season before.

Doesnt happen in Spain.

Barca and Real can have poor seasons relatively and still finish 2nd.

I am really worried about his second season. So far, this really looks horrible and he continues to use exactly the same tactics as last year. I am 100% sure majority of teams learned how to play agains us. Furthermore, if he doesn't change something this could end up badly for him and Barca in general.

The second problem is that the players have become arrogant, deluding themselves into thinking they’re the best in the world, which is utter nonsense and a straight road to failure

Let's see it changed. I still see Liverpool and City since Pep and Klopp. Others fall off in the end and it's a near duopoly for league titles for 8 years and counting.

And even if Arsenal or Chelsea become title challengers for real, if City drops it's still a duopoly. And why is City given a free pass for being shite all of a sudden? Last season they got trashed by the worst Madrid in quite some time.

EPL has its own issues at the top if you look closely.

It doesn't happen as often in Spain because Madrid and Barca are bigger clubs. This is the main reason.

They are almost never as bad as the English clubs can be. Higher medians, higher highs, higher lows in general.

Thats not true.

Barca in Xavi 2nd season were poor and would not have been top 2 in EPL.

Real last season probably not either given how Arsenal in 2nd battered them and that was how Real looked most of the season.

Not poor at all. Played with ambition, sacrifice, almost no lapses of focus, proper league winning side.

Got knocked out by Inter in CL, but then Inter played an even final with treble winners City.

Don't think you can call 2022-23 Barcelona a weak side.
