Ernesto Valverde: An Analysis of his tenure

Anfield was more embarrassing than Bayern. We had Messi playing at Ballon d'Or level in CL. Pool were missing 2 of their front 3 and we had a 3-0 lead...and we'd already experienced a collapse the season prior.

Both are on the same level imo, on the one hand we lost to a team who played without their best player and was 0-3 down on the other hand 8!!!! fucking goals in 90min is nearly an unreachable embarassement.

Bayern game was about worst tactical plan ever seen from Barca.

The justifiably scored 8 and could have been more.

Going 442 with Roberto and Vidal as wide men and sitting deep is worst ever seen and far far worse than Liverpool away.

Did we have any speedy players available for the match? I don't think so.

Messi himself said before that Rijkaard was his best ever coach.
Nothing to really take from those words it changes constantly

It's like sex, you have a good sex and you think it's the best night ever but then you meet another girl and have wild raw kinky fun and now she is the best.

I'm sure when Messi said that he meant it, but that's before he met Pep.

Now playing under EV is more like having sex with an asexual.

You're welcome

...anyway he said Rijkaard was the most important coach for him in 2016.

Rijkaard is dutch btw...just like Koeman.

Lol, no matter what Messi might have the interest to say at some point in time, he's won a Ballon d'Or in every year he was managed by Pep. 4 out of 4. It's clear who had the biggest influence on him, and he probably knows it.

Just like Pep knows Lahm is not a smarter player than Xavi, and Foden is not the most talented youngster he's ever trained lol.

You said it yourself, it was just a dig against Pep.

I said this is what people think.
tbh, I think it was more of appreciation to Rijkaard, who was his 1st team coach, believed in him from very young age, and generally was really popular among his players.

The point is, players say different things at different times. Messi once picked Rijkaard, then he picked Pep. Xavi once talked awfully about Rijkaard, then talked greatly of him and the list goes in.
Don't take what they say in those interviews too seriously, because in next interview it will be something different
