Truth
Never watched a full match of Newcastle in recent years, just the odd highlight of Isak in particular. Howe, on the other hand, I've seen (only as an adversary to City) since his arrival into Premiership with Bournemouth as I was long critical of how few tacticians of note were coming up in Enlish football

Not my cup of tea in terms of style but the parallels with Simeone are probably the most relevant one to share with those who have never seen how his teams play

Flick surely understands what they face, shame Lamine won't be there - last season under the new format we lost after a bright start to the season with an early red so I doubt very much there is much risk of underestimating opponent or complacency

You what mate. Last few games Arsenal have either Gabriel or MOSQUERA playing while Liverpool have French Araujo.

Otherwise decent post me ol' mucka.

Temp break down is a good one of Newcastle.

Fast strong team, that's good in transition and in Bruno & Tonali have players in Midfield that can match anyone we have car pedri.

But I still think it's a draw or win for us, assuming flick doesn't go fully suicidal

If that's the case then it will be a Cassado-Pedri midfield, which isn't too bad tbh. Would also start with Fermin as 10.

Howes approach is nothing like Simeone at all.

Not a clue.

Pedri needs to step up then. Show how head shoulder he is above the rest.

Cant be getting out played by likes of Frenkie as was v Inter etc.

Tonali is supposed to be vastly superior to likes of Frenkie is he not? Now it is he 'can match' him.

Top stuff.

Newcastle is physical and fast. It's a rather typical La Liga vs EPL battle. Technique and possession vs power and fast breaks using pace and athleticism.

The bad part is Newcastle play much better home than away. Too bad this is not played in Barcelona.

It's on us to play fast ball and don't make big errors in defense. We do that, we have the tools to hurt Newcastle. We start sluggish and slow, we'll be under a lot of pressure.

Newcastle is very one dimensional, but their football is solid.
