LOL you gotta love on this forum how when a player has 1 bad game people decide to jump on him like he's suddenly crap. If that logic applied then Messi would be shit every now and then too. Oh wait, people on here actually do say that. Shame shame. Spoilt Cule logic.

Was going to post that but you came to that conclusion yourself. People jumped on Xavi and Iniesta for a freaking Spain performance but let us make something clear, it's not spoilt culé logic.. it's barça forum logic. Most of those people were calling for "a tall forward like Diego Costa" too but every international game he plays with Spain it shows how much he would suck at Barcelona. You shouldn't worry about it because on here you're only as good as your last game. Azpilicueta will soon enough be the "right back who should replace Alves because he is sooooo good defensively" again.
95% of Catalan Barça fans don't give a rat's ass about Spain but on here a 5-1 Spain loss results in a meltdown.

Spain has been missing a solid RB for years now, nevermind a goalscorer...Turning point for me was both RVP's goal and Silva's miss, Spain never recovered and Holland ran rampant

Many had poor matches but Azpilicueta was exposed, there's no other way to put it...He was targeted and he was not only neutralized by de Boer's gem in defense but punished in attack as well...It was a significant tactical advantage in the match

Diego Costa's problem is his mobility. He just doesn't move enough. Even a guy like Drogba (power forward) was a lot more mobile. Will be interesting to see how he and Cesc do at Chelski next season.

Exactly.

VDB should have taken Carvajal who had a stellar season & put great wingers like Ribery in his pocket... he is much better than Cesar ..

Yeah, not really. Unless a half-field cross from about 50 yards out to the middle is suddenly the fault of the fullback. Netherlands were playing direct long balls in-behind the high central defensive line all night long and Robben was running directly at Ramos and Pique through the middle. They barely came through the flanks. How Azpi was "targeted" only the experts here will now.

Yeah, I didn't notice Azpi or Alba at all, the Dutch avoided them entirely, they focused on Pique and Ramos and boomballs from midfield.

Carvajal has been defensively exposed many times this season. Neymar's goal in Camp Nou and Iniesta's goal in Bernabeu being 2 examples against Barca alone. Ribery is in the worst form of his life (French NT doctors say he has played with dozens of injections this season and his body can't take it anymore). The way you as Real Madrid played against Bayern is also irrelevant for how Spain play. You ceded possession and played in a deep block with plenty of bodies at the back on the counterattack. Spain play ridiculously high up the pitch on the frontfoot. If you want to compare individually, Azpi's season has been greater than Carvajal's. Although he isn't exactly suited to playing around the halfway line without any support either but in this game the fullbacks were the least of del Bosque's concerns.

Considering most of Holland's attacks came from Cesar's side and that the first two goals were from there as well confirms he was a target from Van Gaal...Third goal should've been disallowed for interference and the last two were more the result of chasing the result and being exposed on the counter after pushing up

The key battle was Blind vs Cesar

Apart from those two examples one of them was when he was still taking his baby steps in the camp nou he also played against the rest of the teams brilliantly .. his ball recovery with pace is best in Europe & while you talk about Iniesta you neglect to mention the rest of the match when he was solid... Ribery was subbed & still his replacement couldn't lay a hand on Carvajal ..neither did all the other teams we played in this season this while he cause more threat going forward than any other Spanish RB available
you talk about Azpi while you forget he was not that great vs Atletico & vs PSG vs Basel , City etc... but it's funny how you neglect intentionally to mention that to make a point ?

Superiority ? he looks solid with Jose but with Jose lineup everyone looks solid
This season Carvajal is the best RB in Spain
