He joins them for 150m, saves Newcastle PSR problems then he comes to Barca next year for 50m and we send Lewa to Al Hilal to replace him.

Make it happen.

He's such a fucking bum if he actually joins Al-Hilal lol.
Can't see him staying there for more than a year if he does. He might see this as the perfect chance to move on from Newcastle without a big fuss, and set himself up for a transfer to a top club in a year...would sure as hell be easier to leave for him from there and for the buying club to negotiate with Al Hilal than Newcastle and the inflated EPL prices.

Hopefully he gets home sick for La Liga, and in that case, we're really his only choice out of the top 3 clubs. Just hoping we don't buy Alvarez and drop like 120M on him and then they buy Isak as his replacement for half the price...cause I could totally see that happening.

Can't believe I have to hope we don't find ourselves with too much money to burn too soon after returning to the Camp Nou, cause even though Laporta is not Bartomeu, he does have a tendency to want shiny new expensive toys.

Isak or Sesko is the way next summer for now...we need a real 9 in the mould of Lewandowski to take over from him properly. And that's not Alvarez.

Will be interesting to follow what happens with Isak... Is he happy at Newcastle? Will he want "more" if they fail in CL this year? Does he sign an extension soon and if not how will Newcastle react? Etc etc etc...
Anyway, he would be amazing #9 for us - dream signing.

I still have my doubts about him. He has good, but not game breaking scorers. I'd expect a bit more from the "hottest" striker transfer target. Suarez for example had 31 goals and 15 assists in 37 games in Liverpool's last season, before he came to us. Isak's 27 goals 6 assists in 42 games look definitely worse.
And let's not forget the only season he played CL (23/24), he managed to score one goal in the group stage. Let's see how he does this season, especially in the CL. For me he still didn't show enough to pay these rumoured +- 150m.

The striker quality is really in the gutter, if we're talking about 150m for a striker with these scorers in his prime.

Who is?

Someone like Isak wouldn't make top 10 strikers in the previous generations. The quality of football players is at an all time low (at least in the last 30 years) so we shouldn't compare prices and statistics with players from the past, the bar in much lower now.
Yeah same for tennis! The Wimbledon final was so underwhelming. Probably the worst period in tennis since before the Borg era.

One good thing is, all the top teams will have a "top" striker as a No.9 in their team, so they wont be in the market for one next summer.

And with the availability of Sesko too, there might be a possibility we can get a good enough Striker for significantly lower prices than what they are going for this summer.

I will be 💩 my pants all next summer that we pay 130m plus for either him or Alvarez. Those two cats are going to be around 40m overpriced.

Will make the Diaz 70m rumours look like a cartoon in comparison to the above Texas Catalan Massacre.
Truly.
If it were a sane market, I don't believe there is a single player available worth more than 70m this summer.

True that. Football is seeking some serious decline in talent. It's not just the strikers.

Has the talent really declined though?

We sit at the pinnacle of training, rest, recovery, nutrition and tactical implementations.

Kids are now entering pro academies at 4 years old, and if you don't get in at that point, then you have to get scouted in.

If anything it is the opposite. The defensive systems, fitness and physical attributes have improved so much, that you can't get by as a flair attacking player these days. Not unless you are a genetic freak (hi Scott Steiner) coupled with the talent to extract it, like Lamine or Messi.

Put the 90s versions of Zidane, Totti, Figo, etc in today's football and they play like 35 year old Isco.
