7 - Ferran Torres

He was never underrated, just average at best, but flick improves attacking players.

But I held my hand up, he proved me wrong last season, expected much of the same from him and he over delivered.

Hopefully it keeps it up

He's doing well but could be a purple patch as @zanela says. Sample size of about half a season is a little small. We have seen many many times in football players having a little burst of form then reverting to type.

However, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I believe he can maintain his good form. There's the Flick factor too where he could have improved him for good.

I think Spain won the Euros despite DLF, not because of him. The fact he still doesn't get what Pedri's position is and how important he could be for them tells you everything. They would be even better if Lucho stayed with this squad.
DLF did a great job in Euro 2024. Though i think he hasn't yet changed since. Morata's still getting called up is poor decision.

Ok I really dont wanna sound like a hater but he is far below what is required to be Barca starting striker

As for the goal good job but should have been back in first half, that was a horrible miss

What are you talking about? He dominated both on the first and second floors.
As for the finishing, any forward has such matches. The main thing is that he is maximally involved in the game and has these moments.

Again, in the long run, you don’t need to worry about his finishing. I have already provided statistics for the previous season:

====

I will take statistics without taking into account penalties taken.

LEAGUE (2024-2025)

PlayerNon-penalty xG / 90Non-penalty Goals / 90
Ferran Torres0.630.88
Julián Álvarez0.370.44
Kylian Mbappé0.530.64
Alexander Isak0.590.66
Erling Haaland0.650.67
Harry Kane0.500.61
Lautaro Martinez0.470.42

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (2024-2025)

PlayerNon-penalty xG / 90Non-penalty Goals / 90
Julián Álvarez0.280.80
Lautaro Martinez0.470.94
Ferran Torres0.650.63
Erling Haaland0.780.70
Kylian Mbappé0.670.57
Harry Kane0.600.56
Alexander Isak0.400.29

*** I took Isak's statistics from the 2023-2024 Champions League, as his team did not participate in the Champions League this year.

So, if we look at performances in the domestic league, we can see that Ferran outperforms all the other players listed in terms of goals per 90 minutes and surpasses them all in terms of conversion rate (how effectively he converts his goal-scoring opportunities).

If we look at performances in the Champions League, we can see that Ferran outperforms all the other players listed, except Lautaro Martinez, Haaland and Alvarez, in terms of goals per 90 minutes and surpasses all of them except Lautaro and Alvarez in terms of conversion rate (how effectively he converts his goal-scoring opportunities).

He's learning from the best. I mean, he is Lewa's sub, so that's to be expected.

Have a mare of a game, shit combination, miss a sitter.
But hey, get lucky with a goal, and people forget how much of a liability you are on the pitch.
