7 - Ferran Torres

I don't know, even if he scores, I don't like him being a starter. The only thing he stands out in, is his work-rate. In everything else, he feels like pure average. Average finish, average pace, average skills with the ball, average passing, average hight, average physicality, zero dribbling skills, below average header skills.

Him scoring a goal distracts most of the times from these things. When he missed that shot from the penalty point, I nearly bit in my remote control. He's a good squad player to have on the bench, but he lacks too much to be a starter in Barcelona.

Ok I really dont wanna sound like a hater but he is far below what is required to be Barca starting striker

As for the goal good job but should have been back in first half, that was a horrible miss

Sure, if the bar is the the level of strikers we are used to, from Romario to Ronaldo, Kluivert, Eto, Suarez and Lewa. With Messi being a false 9 for half decade. Torres will always lose against such comparison.

But if you look at the market for current no9, even without considering our finances, there is likely only 2 sure players that are better that might be in the market next year, old Harry Kane and Isak. You consider our finances and that take Isak out, with 33 years old Kane is probably your only option.

If Ferran keep his form of last year, I prefer to invest in improving our defense over being hellbent on signing a striker

Good post but I wouldn't put Kluivert on the same list as players mentioned.
In fact, he was similar to Ferran. Very frustrating to watch.

You wrote that with a straight face?

Even that dyed hair midget from Levante is better than him.

If you are looking at it negatively then his chance in first half should be a goal but also that is the type of chance he usually will finish running onto a through ball.

What he has improved massively on is the second goal and how held his own in box and finished well after pinning the defender. That is a proper CF goal and more of balls into box threat Barca will need from him at CF if to play there long term.

Ferran is this generations Dani Garcia or Alfooooooonsoooolooo.

Ideally you want him to play a banger of a season and be off for a big fee.

But we don't do that here.

His goal is not as easy as it looked. Yes, cross is great, but he still has defender to take care of to place a shot. Good execution for him, with power, high. But I agree, his chance should have been a goal, and there was no need there to shoot as powerful as he did.

Think we will do that if the fee is high enough. No chance we should sell for anything lower than 70m though. He cost 55, surely we can bank a 15m profit from him if he has two very solid seasons in a row. In this form he should easily start for Spain NT as well.

I have zero confidence on us making a profit on the sale of anyone except Lamine.

Ok there was Pau Victor just now, but don't be surprised if most of that went to Mendes.

The profit to Barca is what is on the books and he would be around 20m now.

But in terms of fee and if he was willing to move then Barca would get more for him than 55m if has another good season.

Dont think that will be what will happen though as neither club nor Ferran want it.

Would not surprise in slightest if Lewa and Ferran are the CFs next season. Think Lewa will get renewed this season or club will at least try and only thing that would stop it would be mammoth wages he could earn in Saudi.
