7 - Ferran Torres

Sure, if the bar is the the level of strikers we are used to, from Romario to Ronaldo, Kluivert, Eto, Suarez and Lewa. With Messi being a false 9 for half decade. Torres will always lose against such comparison.

But if you look at the market for current no9, even without considering our finances, there is likely only 2 sure players that are better that might be in the market next year, old Harry Kane and Isak. You consider our finances and that take Isak out, with 33 years old Kane is probably your only option.

If Ferran keep his form of last year, I prefer to invest in improving our defense over being hellbent on signing a striker

He has played more like a lesser Suarez at CF in 2025 than a Lewa type more traditional CF.

Can fuck up a basic touch or pass one minute then create a good chance or score a banger the next.

Will press all day like him also and more and more playing with bite/aggression.

Ferran at an odd phase in that he probably better than the clubs who would be interested in (eg Villa) but not quite good enough to be starter for the clubs that he would be interested in moving to.

For that better for all parties to stay at Barca and have a prominent squad role.

It works for us in this sense also. 55m for a squad player is usual these days. Especially one that can give you 7-8 seasons. There is no pressing need to sell Torres at this point for the club.

I'd say we don't have any problem players in the squad at all, but I would fancy an Araujo sale without question. Think even Stegen will be moved if only to get rid of his wages.

Not good enough for Barcelona? Where did you get this crap from? He had a great season 2024-25 in terms of play and statistics. He continues to show a high level this season. If he plays at the same level this season, I don't see any point in buying anyone at all.

Here they worship Haaland, who cannot handle the ball properly, combine quickly and effectively, and who is less effective without the ball, but they still think that Torres is not good enough.

Yes, Torres will not score 60 goals per season, he is a player of Firmino's format. He is not a player of Haaland's format, for whom the whole team will play.

But you don't have to have a player in your team who will score 60 goals, for whom the whole team will have to work. You can have a forward in the format of Torres, who has a lot of advantages for a system that will allow you to distribute goals between the forwards and attacking midfielders.

Barca will not renew Lewa's contract that's for sure.

Ferran is the frontrunner for the CF position next season and I don't expect blockbuster transfers next summer, given the financial uncertainty.

I think they will try but depends on if can meet on salary.

Some kind of deal to reduce salary and amortized cost this season and agreement he can go to Saudi in future and pocket a large part of the fee.

His veteran age and huge salary is NO GO for me. Lewa in a sense fulfilled his mission at Barca to win two La Ligas and rebuild the club, to stabilize the atmosphere in the locker room.

Both sides (Lewa and Barca) will 100% engage in renewal talks, I have no doubts.

The question is obviously salary and ambition, Barca can't afford to offer him big deal, not with winger and defense still being massive issues and FFP putting us on the ropes. Is he willing to do that to stay in Barcelona and play CL with some regularity? Or does he see himself in less demanding league with some big pay day in MLS or Saudi (the former is unlikely to give him massive salary).

There are already rumours that he has an agreed deal in Saudi for 2026
