If you consider the signings some EPL clubs make, we should be asking 80m for Casado. But this is not how it goes. They usually go for different profiles to Casado. Unfortunately, nobody plays the football we play in England except City, so most teams in EPL wouldn't know how to use a player like Casado. They won't have much use for him.

Casado is difficult to sell for a higher fee than 30m. We either keep or cash in under what some would prefer, due to him being a defensive player who is not much to look at in terms of physicality and athleticism. Even at Flick Barca this was often an issue. Don't think EPL is good for him.

But then I don't rate Casado that highly. For me he had a good start, but after it he was often the worst in our midfield. De Jong easily took his place after injury.

On the other hand Casado broke through with Flick which is a more closer and accessible style. You could argue that Casado was never one of our brightest prospects, precisely because of the being in the traditional Barca style and not having those attributes.

So I don't think his price should be reduced because of profiling matching or not.

In the end, it's just we have a paper hand and can't maximise fees until we move to the Camp Nou. Hopefully that's the end of the financial woes and we can buy and sell with the strength that a billion euro team should. Liverpool earn over 25% less than us and can blow the market to smitherines.

To conclude, as a desperation move I would sell Araujo for 30m ahead of Casado for 30m to sort out finances for next season. If that's the only injection we need.

On Sport they push the idea that we need to sell to make more transfers. Araujo is first one out if possible, but Casado could be an easier sale.
