Struggle to find 4 teams in Europe with 4 quality CB, we have that.

Martinez leaves next summer and we bring the African price Faye back.

Option # 2, sign a top class RB, move kounde to CB after about 6 months of settling back in, he'll be one of the best CB in the world again ( was a top CB talent, not so much one of the best in the work at Sevilla, but you get the point).

Option # 3. Farre is a beast, then see above.

So basically we have 3 options.

Not of which includes buying an elite CB of which there is like maybe 4/5 in the entire world right now, none of which are for sale.

Buying an elite CB or a CB with elite traits would be very expensive.

I mentioned a while ago that I would like for one of these CBs to be a Barca player in 2026 because they fit what we need. Height, physicality, good on the ball, good 1v1 and quick with the exception of one of them.

Konate, Saliba, Schlotterbeck, Van de Ven.

It's worth noting that, the CL is about to be played with 5 CBs between both teams and only one of this would be identified as elite.

Just goes to show, system and tactics matter more than individual talent and we have 5 players ( including kounde) that are all high quality CBs.

I don't count Kounde as a CB anymore and don't think he'll go back to playing there.

CB is being discussed for various reasons though. Christensen's health, Inigo's age and Araujo's constant self-implosion. We've also seen Eric at CB and it isn't pretty vs. great teams.

It's going to be a priority for sure next summer.

Ues we definitely need a CB next summer.

Next summer is shaping up to be very potential expensive.

St
LW since we are only moving for a loan.
CB. ( We are unlikely to spend big in this area)

We are playing a system that exposes CB weaknesses, and we will continue to do so. That is the reason we need a better CB, not the opposite

It is just fans that are piving in the past. It is the same "Roberto is a CM and Mascherano is a CDM" type of crowd.

Kounde isn't going back to CB any time soon. He himself accepted that, but fans won't let it go.

Yea and we aren't getting none

Because

1. There is a handfull that are better, we are 3 minutes away from saying all our defenders are basically poor or average, that doesn't happen, none of this conversation is being had, 3 tactically horrible minutes.

2. If the players aren't good enough ( wish all 4 definitely are) then you make adjustments to cover their weaknesses, no go out and buy a new toy, while not addressing the obvious weakness in the system.

I disagree with flick on a few things, but I'm encouraged he's come out and admitted he fucked up and he will work on it next season.

Because you'll struggle to any name teams with 4 betters CB that

Cubarsi
Christensen
Martinez
Araujo

Ans a player like kounde to cover if needs be.

The system will continue to be weak defensively, no matter the adjustment.

That is the reality. Flick system is offensive minded and pressing is the defense. Few tweeks here and there might improve few things, but we will continue to rely on ourscoring opponents, and you will continue to blame the system. It is like a girl saying "I will change him". Rather than accepting who he is.

But then again, that is also me, because I will continue to hope for a big CB signing when I know the club doesn't care, and we won't sign one.
