Remember how far up pep's ass were some well respected Barca members here that they claimed that both Chygo and Ibra were good signings for us but it was bad Sandro Rosell who wouldn't give them time to settle and sold them too soon.

I used to think him as our best defender and kinda untouchable but I am not sure he is a good fit with Flicks system and he is too error prone and injury prone. Sell. No ball skills either.

Id sell.

If he stays:

I think he should lose a bit of muscle/weight actually. He might be too muscular for his own body causing those injuries. It could maybe make him less injury prone and help with his first few steps to be faster. Just a theory but you can see why he breaks down playing LB or RB. Too much running for his size.

He doesn't need as much as power as he currently has. He needs more smarts, quickness, ball skills and speed. He is insanely strong. Add a bit to his weaknesses from his strengths and he'd be overall better player.

Change of fitness plan would be good.

Ronald Araújo: "I assure my continuity, I have a contract until 2031."
"I'm happy for all the titles we got this season, although I don't think it was a great season for me personally, especially because of the injury that kept me standing still for a long time." Via

I have no hope, except the slim hope that some club could come up with a decent offer for him.

Dumb players don't get better. But if everybody is fit, he is 4th option. He is ok as 4th CB option.

If we play him as striker, who has a worse touch, Araujo or Vitor Roque?

If we played Vitor Roque at centreback, who is worse at playing the offside trap, he or Araujo?

Maybe just maybe, we got these the wrong way round.

Sounds like he is making it clear he is here to stay.

I have hope but not belief. I don't expect anything from him next season which is why I'd like him to leave.

His problems are very deep imo. Not so easy to fix as to expect Flick to do it in a pre season. Despite all his physical attributes (that also seem to have worsened over time) he is very low iq and technically horrendous. I don't see how Flick changes that, maybe he can just find a way to hide it but top teams will exploit it.
