24 - Eric García

Dude wasn't really tested defensively - but credit where credit is due. But we all knew this dude has skills on the ball, but better yet he can be utilized on RB after tonight beside DM/MF (and to some degree CB, but I'd prefer not to play him there).

😆 🤣 😂.....at some of the comments here.
Reading them, you would think a Cafu played RB for Barca today. Low standards.

Dude was fncking average with a number sloppy passes and zero attacking contributions(he was rather obstructing attacking play).

I habe come to the conclusion that there is a very low bar for quality performance on this forum. That is why some could ascribe an adjective lke "great" to what Garcia displayed today.

Interestingly, he just needs to have one poor game for his standards before those praising him here do a 360 and become the Brutus that would stab deeper and call for his head again.

If you read the comments on the page about Gerrard Martin on the 2nd of March after the match against Sociedad and the ones of last satueday against Celta Vigo, you would never believe they were for the same player being praised a few weeks back.

Where was this trend hiding?

He played great today, considering I've never seen him play RB before.

I'm not a big fan of his, but credit where it's due

So what made him great was mainly because you had not seen him play as a RB before( even though Xavi had used him a couple of times in 2022/23) and not necessarily for his perfomance.

Wow!!

Yea just like the coach today.

"I'm very surprised with his level in this position: he always knows what to do"

Surprised us all with a great performance at RB considering no one thought he could play this well there, even the coach.

I will never trust him at CB, he's the tuna of CB.

But if he can cover 3 position, that's the kind of versatility you need as a solid squad playe

Roberto regen

😆 🤣....when you have to defend your own standards by what someone else says....you really dont have a standard.

Thats enough for me... 😆 🤣 😂

He used to be terrible(those costly big mistakes )but the year with Girona really improved him as a player and now he is playing his best. I wouldn't mind keeping him as a sub. He can play multiple positions and as a sub he can be very useful. Well done..

Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres have had minor miracles of a season. They went from being considered useless to being decent squad players

Is this the coveted Eric at RB we alluded to?

Actually pretty decent.
Honestly, would need more games to accurately asses, but if he continues this and improves a bit, I kinda can't justify spending money on a backup RB.
We either go for a starter RB with a different profile and move Kounde to CB, or we don't buy anyone.

Next Sergi Roberto... A player who isn't very good, but can cover a few positions, doesn't do much and occasionally does something...

Was thinking the same. Guy really is a Roberto regen.
Roberto should never have been a starter in any position, but our mismanaged club made him be. He should have been a versatile player, filling in as a super sub.
Think Casado can be the same.
