He only played Xaviball so we are yet to see him playing Hansiball. Could be quite entertaining.
I understand the critics in the thread here, but both Kounde and Balde need competition on their positions as none of them developed the right way.
And Cancelo gives Flick options for both flanks as well as being able to play Kounde as CB.
Would have preferred a CB too as Kounde doesn't seem to have the focus to play CB, but beggars can't be chosers and Cancelo hardly can do much worse defensively than his competitors for the position.
Like it or not, Cancelo makes the squad stronger and he definitely loves Barça so I will hold back with criticism.

Cancelo is a proven fullback with some big performances on the biggest stage
If Balde and Kounde are injured for big CL games, as was the case last season, good luck expecting Jofre and Espart with no experience even in LL games to boss it at that level
Martin was big part of the reason we lost against Inter last season despite 2 assists. Dumfries was destroying that left side

True but Flick showed multiple times he doesn't trust Jofre and Espart and won't play them. And Cancelo will give us more offensively than they would.
I'm not really happy he's coming but it's a ok move if you consider the level of our sporting departement. You can't be mad at a kid when he does something stupid. The same with Deco, this kind of deals is the only kind of deals they are capable of completing. Overpaying for a loan like Rashford (and probably Cancelo), overpaying for free agents or paying the release clause for Joan or Olmo. Any kind of other deal is too complicated for them.

You can't be serious? Cancelo is one of the worst FBs defensively you can find. There is a reason Juve and Man city were happy to see him go. He can put in a good cross and has decent skill for sure but can't tackle or defend. Kounde and Balde are way better defensively even if they are not in form this season. What sort of form do you think Cancelo is in playing (barely) in Saudi?

KOUNDE is the worst full back of all time in terms of attacking and defending. Both.

I am optimistic too eventhough both Kounde and Blade dont look better.
Technically and offensively on a different level to any of those two. Perfect for both attacking counters and overloads.
Defensively another story completely though
The thing I would most be looking forward to is Gerard Martini and Joey Cancels twinning facial expressions.
