Could be an OK stopgap on our terms. I wouldn't trust him in big games even if Balde and Kounde both are lacking in certain areas. But as a backup he would suffice in Liga to give our FBs a rest.

It would also give some depth at CB if Kounde or Eric didn't have to play RB every game.

Priority is still CB, but expectations should be very low in January imo. There aren't any obtainable solutions there.

At least Cancelo is a freaking beast in attack, he could unleash Yamal and combine with him - and honestly, at this point how much worse than Kounde defensively could he be?

Yep. I can't recall how many times today I watched Kounde and Yamal occupy basically the same space instead of making room for each other. Cancelo is MUCH more positionally aware. Wouldn't crowd Yamal, would also penetrate on the inside channel rather than always on the outside. Much better technically, too. Would really unleash Yamal.

No question he is not a very reliable defender, but as an attacking outlet he is tremendous and we see how little FB connection there has been of late with either winger

I like it as a stop gap measure until summer but this topic was front & center last summer when LW & FB were key needs, before Iñigo exited. Now LCB is added to that list, long-term

LCB, LW & FB are main areas of need going forward

I prefer glass cannon option in this case. Kounde is also shit defender, maybe not as shit as Cancelo, but he also sucks bag of dicks in attack, while Cancelo is awesome. Under high defensive line, both of them get exposed defensively big time, but one of them can contribute to a lot of goals and general buildup. Let's max out one direction than being half assed instead. I use role playing game build logic here.

There is a high chance he is money driven.

Don't think he will reduce his salary a lot, so we can afford him. Even though he's a Barca fan.
