I think its a bad call. Christensen is a better defender for this team. Much more intelligent and suites to play the high line, and in a different stratosphere on the Ball compared to Araujo.

Selling him is fine, but we cannot go into next season with Araujo, Inigo, Cubarsi and Eric Garcia as our only CBs.

Especially when it's tough to trust Eric and Araujo vs. top teams and Inigo and Cubarsi have shown some flaws as well.

He has a contract, but with 1 year left.
The coach won't go against the board if they decide it is better to kick him out, and in such case, this will be to reinvest in another CB. Highly unlikely we are pushing him out without a plan to sign a new one

The club has a clear rule against players n the last year of their contract.

I get the sense that will be pushed this season with de jong and him.

If he stays they won't not play him, he's too good and Martinez and araujo are injury prone.

If they sell it won't be for much and his salary isn't crazy.

The club will take a wait and see approach with him.

If we sign a new CB it is a good decision. You just can't rely on him at all in a predictable way. If we sell him and bring nobody, it's terrible. We have to bring in a CB. And considering we wanted Teh and he didn't come, I expect the club to bring in another option without much money.
