    Ronaldinho

Yep. It's always fun watching those two teams play each other, but having Ronaldinho and Eto'o going up against each other for the first time in Italy will make it even more interesting. It would be great to see Ronnie called back to the Brazil squad and have a chance to play an important role...

    Ronaldinho

Having just watched Inter play newly promoted Bari to a draw (at home), I'm not so sure facing quality sides will be a big problem in Serie A this year. Siena is actually a pretty tough place to play and Milan played great in the second half. They were a much better side than Inter this weekend...

What shirt sponser would you prefer on our shirt?

Being a good, old-fashioned leftist, I agree with you completely. I detest corporate sponsorship and I think the fact that Barcelona wears UNICEF on their jerseys is the coolest thing in the world. No way I would want to change that for the sake of making a few more bucks. :2145960713mundoemot

    Now that's funny.

Who really deserves the Ballon D'or?

I'm surprised Giovani Dos Santos didn't get more votes. He was such a force for Ipswich Town this year. :p

    Jan Vertonghen

I don't know too much about him, but he seems very promising. I definitely like his size. And the Dutch league always seems to produce a lot of good, young talent. Sounds like he could develop into a fine player. :2145960713mundoemot

The greatest striker in Barca history

I'm glad to see some of the old guys such as Paulino Alcántara, César Rodríguez and László Kubala were brought up. Too often fans know the players from recent decades, but those whose shoulders the more recent legends stand on are sadly forgotten. :beer2: César still holds the Barcelona record...

    Sir Bobby Robson 1933-2009

I was really sad to wake up to this news this morning, even though it didn't shock me. What a great character and a great coach. A true legend of the game. He'll always be remembered fondly by Barcelona fans and by everyone in England.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Check out this crazy goal by LDU Quito against Real Madrid at about 3:12 in this package of highlights. It involves a corner kick, a header, a bicycle kick and another header. :p <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie"...

    Who should take free kicks?

I voted "other" because I don't think the same person should take them all the time. I think it's good to mix it up and give the opposition something a little different. So I'd be in favor of Alves, Xavi, Messi and Ibrahimovic sharing the responsibility in some manner.

    Etoo's Finest Moment

We'll always have Paris, I suppose. I voted that way as well, although not because I have anything against Arsenal but because I love Barcelona and it was the frickin' Champions League final! It doesn't get any better than that. :beer2: :2145960713mundoemot :flagvl8::flagvl8::flagvl8:

Zlatan: crack or flop next season

I have no doubt he'll be successful. Of course, if you define successful as scoring 35 goals, you're likely to be disappointed. But his mixture of goalscoring, assists, creativity, aerial ability, ballhandling, etc., will surely add a dynamic new piece to the Barcelona attack. What's not to...

    Ronaldinho

I was watching when that happened. It was funny. I think everyone got a good laugh out of it.

    USA

Actually, Bradley's club didn't get relegated and the previous season he scored 16 goals for Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie. And Clint Dempsey has arguably been the best player on Fulham (which finished 7th in the EPL and earned a spot in the Europa League) for the past two seasons. Plus...

    USA

Well, the thing is that not a single one of the players from the Confederations Cup roster played in the match against Mexico yesterday. It was basically the USA's third/fourth level players -- young guys from MLS and a couple of guys who play in Norway. So it would have been an upset had the...

Who are the favourites for the PL title?

I've always thought highly of him as a manager though. Hopefully he'll make a couple of good signings before the period ends. But aside from Real Madrid and Man City throwing money around, the whole transfer period has been rather slow (because of inflated prices).

    USA

Yeah. Played a good first half, but after that (very questionable) penalty kick they just fell apart. They lost their focus and just couldn't handle Vela, Dos Santos, etc. The regular squad gets a shot Aug. 12 in Mexico (where we don't win, as you know).

Who are the favourites for the PL title?

It's a crapshoot, really, but I went with Chelsea. It appears Ancelloti is going to play Drogba (who is looking good and healthy in the preseason tournament over here) and Anelka together up front. They haven't lost any key players. They've added Zhirkov. I have a feeling they're really getting...

Actually Keller is retired from the NT as well. Howard's backup is Brad Guzan, who is being mentored by Friedel at Aston Villa. Guzan is a great young talent. Glad to see some chat about the USMNT. I'm very proud of the progress they've made since the 1994 World Cup and to see them come back...
