Messi hasn't had the greatest year by his standards, mainly due to his injuries, but he's still had a better year than anyone else. And he was as good as ever when he was fit. IMO, he'll win the Ballon d'or and deserves it. He probably won't win it as easily as he did in the last few years though.

Sucks that we missed out on this guy. :( He cost 35m, but that's football for you. And 35m for him would have been better than a lot of the alternatives. Such as 35m for Luiz. Or no one.

Those making those calls last season had a point. Alves was worse last season than he's been this season and Montoya looked good in the little time he got. Especially in the first half of the season when Alves was injured. Plus, our LB is also attacking-minded. I agree that Alves is in better...

Neither of those were his fault. They were due more to tactics. Plus he wasn't fully fit for 4. And he probably is the player with the most goals per game.
