Yea all the glaze after elche was a false flag, as I said in the yamal and Pedri trend.

Just making things up.. no one was making any huge predictions on Elche other than team played well against a team likes of Real have dropped points against.

Pedri has played worse v worse teams than Elche this season also.

But that never matters.

There is reason why Pep in City always think about defenders. But Pep can buy while Flick can not.

Can't blame Flick if he doesn't want to continue after his contract expire.

Biggest thing on Flick was that Balde was getting rinsed whole of first half on attacks. Should have made him stop going forward and recalibrate the fullbacks to both be defensive during the storm.

On one of the goals Balde as at AML.

Atleti just kept hitting the same pattern over and over again with same success.

Balde and Kounde are also massively exposed in the system as any player would be and teams know to go wide and pull the narrow high line apart and try to break it from there or dribble.

Every single full back and defence would struggle with being asked to defend like that and opposition approaching as above.

The whole things results in aboslute chaos and players scrambling out of position for last ditch defending too often.

Any opposition coach worth their salt is saying v Barca..

1. Break quickly and as they push up and narrow if no clear obvious through ball in space go wide.
2. Go wide to pull the fullbacks out the narrow line and force them to close down/engage.
3. Striker/AM now is time to make runs in behind as defence high but spread out.
4. If wide player is quick and has room judge whether taking fullback on is the better option and look for attackers hitting box with ball across early.

Near on every team is doing this now and getting joy.

It is taking J Garcia or last ditch defending too often v poor teams to try and stop it.

Like playing poker and showing the other players one of your cards.

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
How do we even know Hansi wants to play such a high line. Conversation probably went something like this.

HF : Yo Presi, we need to talk I got a big problem.

JL. : Wassup Nazi, don't tell me you had a fight with Juwensley Ornstein already?

HF : No, that was Gnidrologist. I got bigger problems. I seen the defenders we got. They can't defend for shit. What we gonna do ?

JL. : How many defenders you need me to get?

HF : Around 4.

JL : Haha muthafucka, what you think this is BUYern or some shit, I'm still paying off Xavi's credit card.

HF : Okay, let me think. I got it ! If my defenders can't defend, I'll get someone to defend for them.

JL : Who?

HF : The linesman, bitch !

JL : Mein Fuhrer ! This is why I always knew you were the one for me, Hansi.

HF : Haha, give me some skin, Presi. Okay, so are we going to be signing any defenders in the summer at least?

JL : Depends.

HF : On what ?

JL : If Julian Alvarez can play at right back !

HF : Haha, that's why I love you, bitch.

JL : Love you more , ho.

🚨| 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍: It was an INTENSE morning at Ciutat Esportiva today. Hansi Flick delivered a stern message to the squad in training, questioning their attitude and intensity, particularly in the first half of yesterday’s game.

The players, however, also made their voices heard. According to those close to the dressing room, the players are not looking to abandon the tactical approach that delivered a domestic treble last season, but are instead asking for more pragmatism in key matches, greater flexibility against certain opponents, and better adaptation to the players available. Nice, even players are tired of being humiliated by mid teams thanks to brain-dead tactics.

Thank you and good luck. End of season.

For now Laporta needs your name to win elections

This defensive experiment was fun last season when we scored for fun. It's not fun anymore. Time for a change :)
I don't even think it is connected. We must credit Hansi for attack, he changed slow, static, "pass to feet" tactics and adopted more fluid, dynamic system many of us wanted. I even think with moving deeper and then pressing we would have more counters as you move your opposition higher up the pitch an use Raph and Yamal for quick counters. I just don't see the value of this crazy shape defending, it looked fun for a while, it did surprise many at the beginning and it can be devastating for small teams that lack any skills of avoiding it, BUT every bigger team will and has adopted and will use that space easily.

But every top team defends exactly the same. Do you people even watch city or arsenal they have the same high line, then PSG, Bayern etc.... Literally peps Barca did the same thing but people now are talking about Flick as if he's doing something crazy.
The defenders are just total garbage almost all of the suck. You could get defenders from Everton and the would improve this team. How can you have small slow weak defenders and expect to do anything when they lose duels and get outrun. You want to play a lower line then, sure then you will lose possession and have the other team attack you close to your goal where it will be even more dangerous because these defenders are garbage.

No they dont you numpty.

There are plenty of games can go back and watch rather than making shit up.

Barca under Pep had nowhere near as exteme a high line and dont now either.

First game that comes up from Peps time... if you watch even more than 5 mins of that and think they are pushing up as early and narrow as Barca do under Flick then you simply dont have a single clue what watching.
