Whether he becomes the next Guiu, Simons, Olmo, Eric, Iliax, etc. is irrelevant, he has turned down continuity at Barça despite being counted on yet whether that is down to impatience or money, is the real issue
If it is impatience, this often plays out similarly - regardless of career trajectory, ultimately there’s never really been remorse in historical cases. As this has happened before and will happen again - no two players/people are wired the same, irrespective of club ethos & how they ingrain this mentality in the cantera kids the impatient ones will do what they do
If it is money, this has thus far played out similarly but it is also an increasingly large segment of modern football. Kids younger and younger are being splashed cash in an economy where the time may be now. I think as a club it has to plan for this segment (state backed & billionaire backed English clubs) to disrupt the development of youth players at La Masia. Big reason I am thrilled Tunkara agreed recently to his 1st pro contract. And the Masia culture will increasingly come under more & more financial duress to sustain itself in the era of silly money
The good is if it is indeed the Qatari club he goes to learn from Lucho who will no doubt make great use of him. I think he is definitely an interior like a Pedri mold but has great goalscoring instincts in his locker too. I wish him no ill will, we get the best we could get from him for his age despite being valued & trusted for the future and he went for the bag - everyone has their own story, I don’t begrudge him for it and I certainly do not wish for his career to stall or fail. I hope it works out for him but definitely a disappointment to not see what could’ve been here
