I am in agreement with you in principle but one has to wonder which striker should have we signed instead.
From a sporting perspective, don't think many quality strikers would have joined us then.

1.5 years ago we thought we dont need Lewy and Ferran anymore because the golden striker Vitor Roque will become our main striker 🤣🤣

Yup, just like you I agree in principle - but we were in a bad spot and actually Lewa has scored a lot of goals no matter what statistic we use. He was our main "star" before we got some traction. Lewa was not the best transfer out there, but compared to some of our transfers last 10-15 years he was alright after all.

As said.. the goals have to matter to justify the 150m.
Last season Barca scored more without him. He isnt elevating the team in way the money spent would require.
Team does just as well if not better in both title seasons that he misses.
Who could have scored the same or even a bit less for a lot less money?
Plenty given the record of him and others.
He is barely outscoring Sorloth in La Liga the previous three seasons.

This isnt what you pay such big money for at expense of other areas in team... and this isnt an argument for Sorloth being a top CF. That is the point.

Jokes aside, i think from Lewy's perspective it was a massive legacy boost. Bro came here in a old age and still won 2 lls in 3 seasons + scored 100 goals. That alone helped him a lot. Now he can say he was successful at 2 clubs. If he also wins a cl he will be a legend for 2 clubs.

Different teams, different styles of play. I doubt Sørloth would even score 40 goals at Barça.
For example, look at Lukaku: in the fast-paced systems of Inter and Napoli versus the slow, positional play at Chelsea and United.
As a Chelsea fan, I have to say that many great strikers have failed at Chelsea because we play too slowly, and our wingers often shoot instead of passing.
There are few no9 over past 15 years that were acutally good in slow paced tactics: Suarez, Benzema, Lewandowski, Kane
