I am sure on these viewer numbers Barca were ahead of Real most of the time last season also.
Yamal will play a big part on that also would think.
In Spain Sundays always seem like a massive family day. They head to the beach with extended family etc until late on at afternoon/night then eat together later also.
Probably ideal for viewers late on Sunday when familys together and home.
It also helps that EPL games are largely finished by then as now they later kick offs on Sat/Sunday and folk in Spain watch a lot of that league also which will hit the numbers of games at other times on other days.

Yeah but the look at the quality of the end product - inferior camera angle (compared to the epl), worse atmosphere and sound production when watching on TV, worse commentary, pathetic/non existent pre/post game analysis, pathetic pitches and general drab feel of the picture.
How / why would any new neutral fans tune in and become 'La Liga' fans.

Really La Liga should be reducing to 10 or so teams and the tv money split between them.
Even though less games each weekend overall it would not impact tv m money much as tv companies are not paying for anyone to watch the vast majority of games anyway and there would be more high profile games.
Amend FFP rules that if owners buy in and put in money upfront this can be taken into account for FFP and relax the FFP rules on top of that.
Try in any way can to get rid of the buy out clauses in Spain.
And/Or go the whole hogg and sell La Liga to the Saudis who pump in prize money to match the EPL but for reduced 10 teams.
Something drastic needs to be done or could see scenariuo where EPL continiues to outgrow other leagues financially and in popularity and likes of Yamal wants to play there one day because of it.

La Liga from bottom down is a dead league in terms of interest and it will wear thin eventually watching Real and Barca v vastly inferior team most weeks when EPL offers a lot more.

And yet, we still had relegated Leganes putting some monster fight against one of the best sides in Europe last season. In 180 mins we only managed to scrape by an OG.
That's La Liga. Plenty of tough games to small teams. Despite not having much funds they motivate themselves vs the big sides and you end up with many tough games.

I have asked before, when is this Tebas plan supposed to bear fruit? When are clubs going to be able to spend without having hands tied?
FFP rules should straighten clubs' economies so there's a stable ground to keep growing. This stable ground is still nowhere to be seen. Clubs are always struggling even to register players without having invested too much.

EPL teams can struggle past teams in cups etc the points remains. Barca did not even have to be good to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and it was poor stuff.
The majority of league is poor stuff. Likes of Leganes I wouldnt even put as better than SPL teams.

Barca needed an OG again vs a newly promoted side to win the points in the last minutes.
La Liga is tough. Very few easy away games in it. Atletico drew vs Elche at home also. A tough league with many good teams is what I see.
The big sides in it have to be focused and sharp all the time to win it. That's why Madrid didn't win back to back since 2008. Quite funny how many underrate these smaller Spanish sides.

My question isn't about the clubs, they like the constraints and wants it to continue.
However, when will the players force them to abandon current model?
The unspoken thing, is that this rules puts players career in jeopardy, FFP is about the clubs, not the players. But the Tebas model put players as casuality in it, they can be the victims of it despite not being a party in the whole situation.
Look at Olmo situation last year, what if he wasn't registered? He either have to abandon a lucrative contract he has just signed, look for another home, or simply sit out for a full year. This feels like he is being punished.

To come back from 2-0 down and team scores og is not some great thing of quality of that side.
Barca did not play well that game at all.
Leganes are a poor poor side. Would be by far worst in EPL and not better than top SPL sides.

That is on the club not the rules in place by that point.
You can say the rules are too restrictive but if know the rules and player cant play as dont fit into them then that is on the clubs.
FFP for Barca is restrictive. For rest of league is not as bad a things as made out as a lot of those teams were on brink of going bust and trying to spend way out of it was not ideal.
The one area it could be said to impact would be investment and how much opportunity there is to come in and spend.. but how many billionaires were buying and ploughing in money before these rules?
It almost finished Malaga allowing that and may bigger clubs in Spain faltered as spent more than could afford and more were heading that way.

Depends what SPL teams, the lower teams in the SPL are utter rubbish, likes of Hibs, Mirren maybe.

Rangers and Celtic and they are poor sides but have more players that would be sought after than Leganes.
Leganes would be better than any other side.
