The point is Champignons league is very high quality. Inter had a bad day in the final, barca had a bad day in the 2nd round of SF. PSG had a bad day against chelsea in CWC. It happens. Reaching SF is important for money and to get reputation. Winnig it is great but a hard deal.
I was happy with our performance last year, as I will be when we reach the SF again. Winning would be great but constantly staying in top 4 is also important

Doue didnt have to suffer any defeats or CL exits was arguably the best player in final.

As said..Yamal was Barcas best player who had proven himself v Real and at previous Euros and he was least 'experienced'.

This idea of experience for Barca is an excuse in these ties.

Just cause Inter collapsed doesn’t take away from the point experience matters.

You’re trying to convince me that experience is not a factor, if it weren’t the case we would’ve won against PSG and Inter. But we DIDN’T because we sabotaged ourselves and committed mistakes typically committed by overachieving teams in the final stages of the UCL. We went out with better teams it happens we should move on and focus on going on another levels.


I’m saying this once again that I am not excusing our exits but they make sense in the general sense, somethings in football aren’t meant to be and that’s why we only won 5 UCLs in our entire history. Experience played the biggest part in these exits and it is delusion to completely deflect from this point.

And to compare it to the defeats from 16-19, when Barca were behind back then, you thought it was over. Except for the 6-1 against PSG, but that victory was only due to the referee and the lack of a VAR. Now it's different; Barca always comes back since Flick, and when it's just not enough, so what?

It doesnt matter nearly as much as you make out and your rules are 'experience only matters if lose'

Arsenal pumped Real who had vastly more experience late on and winning it.
PSG pumped Inter who had more experience in finals.
PSG beat Liverpool who had more players who experienced finals and winning it.
Barca beat Dortmund who has 'experienced' the final the year before.
Aston Villa with little experience gave PSG a bigger fright than the oh so experienced Inter.

Plenty more.

The least experienced player in Barcas side in terms of age was the best in the CL and possibly the world.

You cant use experience as excuse then point back to 2016-2019 when Barca had vastly more experience than teams lost to.

Maybe its not just experience? Its luck.
If psg havent won at penalties against liverpool? Just luck. Lamines shot doesnt hit the bar, went inside or just out of the game, no counter- luck

It is not about experience and far far more about current level.

Barca squad last season was better than Inters and went out.. not due to experience when your mid 20s defender is fucking up in last minutes and your 17 year old is putting in an all time great performance.

Barcelona 2016-19 despite having experience were cowards and were very complacent. Despite the fact we had vast experience, we just took it too easy and failed to compete thoroughly with the other teams in that time period.

Regarding those other examples, the afromentioned teams were better than their opponents except Aston Villa, which was a special case as PSG stopped pushing their foot on the gas. But this makes me remember another point I said earlier about 2010 and 2012, despite us being the better team it simply wasn’t mean’t to be. That was the case for 2025 but Imo experience played a bigger part. If we weren’t so naive maybe we would’ve been in that final.

Flick played some crucial games in CL with defenders who's level was hardly La Liga (Gerard Martin as prime example) or unnaturals like Eric Garcia as RB. On paper our starting XI was better than Inter, but we had missing key players on both wing-backs. No Kounde, no Balde.

I clearly remember someone on the forum commenting after Borussia: "I was on Inter Milan forum reading and they are looking forward for the CL final after watching Gerard Martin."
