It's like Khaled said. The attack is pressing way less and the overall team is just not operating at the same intensity levels. And without pressing the defense is even worse than normal, because let's face it, our defensive shape is shite. It has nothing to do with Inigo. Now wether it's the easy preseason with no actual meaningful test that led to this sluggish start, some primadonna attitude from our attackers who probably think they are big shots now and don't have to run, pass to a better placed teammate, or defend at set pieces, this is to be determined in the next weeks.

This should be a wake up call. This is probably the worst game in Flick tenure so far. Because unlike Osasuna away, we had our best 11. We lost games before, but when your keeper is motm in a draw to Rayo you know we were dreadful.

If he's smart a draw away to rayo is nothing to worry about.

If he's dumb & doubles down instead of making the right adjustments, it could be a long season.

Tactical tweaks should have been worked on in the Summer, clearly that didn't happen.

But early days

The draw in itself is not the issue, how the team looks is. We were pretty bad vs Levante and Flick was unhappy vs Mallorca also.

The fact that he was bad about the Mallorca game is a flick issue to be honest, playing against 9 men the result was secured and the players took their foot off the gas, that's called playing smart.

I don't remember which podcast I was listening to, and the were all saying why is he complaining, the players did the smart thing.

Smarter that flick who only seems to understand going 100% all the time, that's not practical.

Levante game I rewatch, we weren't bad just unlucky.

This is the first actually poor performance I've seen this season and it's away to rayo, even if we peaked mid season it was likey to be a hard game

We'll have to see what happens over the next two games to come to any real conclusions.

He wasnt really complaining as much v Mallorca as wanting to make sure players dont fall into a complacent mindset even if it probably was the right thing to do for players for that game.

Clearly is trying to weed that out early doors with his comments.

Taking off raphinha was strange.. yamal and raphinha are the team's only consistent and sharp goalscorers.. and to boot he put lewa vs a rayo vallecano that plays defense so high . Flick throwing trash Ford every game is too trustful and it bit his azz already now on just second game.

Raphinha was a disaster yesterday night. So as Olmo who should've been replaced earlier.

I'm starting to think the problem isn't even the players but the entire defensive system. Even with Van Dijk + Saliba we'd still suffer. Flick has to change something. This is a complete disaster. We can't just blame Inigo's departure – our defense was absolute crap even last season. These numbers are a real catastrophe.

Glad a few more are coming around to it.

We can still win big though, not being sarcastic.

But even prime ramos & pique would look suspect with how flick teams play.

It's the players.

It was the players last season too.

What can you really expect when Flick had to drive Kounde/Inigo/Cubarsi/Balde into the ground because he didn't have any alternatives? Araujo looks like a Sunday pub league player on the ball and Christensen is made of porcelain. Then you have Gerard Martin (lol) and Eric, who to his credit established himself well in the RB positon.

Flick's football requires pacy attacking wingbacks - Kounde is not that and Balde is average at best from an attacking perspective. It also requires athletic ball playing CBs. Nobody even remembers the last time Cubarsi, Araujo and Chirstensen were good lol.

The club should have sold Aruajo and a midfielder i.e. Casado and bought in some defensively reinforcements. Probably couldn't even do that due to not being at 1:1...but that fat clown promised this summer we would be back to 1:1 and it never happened. His words, not mine.

What's the point of hiring a manager (even extending his contract) if you aren't going to support him in implementing his system? lmao.
