Ronald Koeman

Totally legit claim...
That's a dark note on this season

It's a recurring theme with Barca managers of late...play youth/fresh faces until the absolute business end of the season and then revert to the same bunch of washed up seniors/bums despite year after year of evidence.

Koeman has been better than EV in this regard but today he pulled a EV on Anfield/Roma classic with the lineup.

May be reactionary, after this bad result, but anything over 1-2 seasons Koeman is not the answer. Not a bad manager, but something is missing.

We keep him until a good enough replacement is available. The options this summer aren't any special, so we might as well keep him around a bit longer.

What a disaster! He is tactically clueless when it comes to reading the flow of a match. How many times has he thrown every forward and their nanny out there when chasing a game? Must be his 4th or 5th time and every one of them has been an utter failure.

Why does he still play with 3 at the back when the opposition has one fucking striker? At home against an inferior team no less. It's a disgrace plain and simple.

To make matters worse he thinks waffle Bob has any sort of chance at providing width when his positioning/defending has always been average at best even in his peak years, now it's downright atrocious. Furthermore, let's say that he made a mistake when he introduced him in the first eleven, but then the guy plays the whole 90 minutes like the best is still yet to come from him. The thought process of this guy is something that boggles the mind.

Another thing, everyone and their mother saw that we needed fucking wingers at the start of the second half to stretch their defense as Messi/Girezmann/De jong had no chance whatsoever in the middle against a low block consisting of 10 players. What does he do, he throws his toys out of the pram when his shambles of a system/tactic plan failed spectacularly. Even his saving grace "leadership" was something that he failed at last night.

When you lose almost ever big game, when you are out coached by any manager worth his salt, it's time to let go and admit that you are not made for this job. Bottler Emery with 10 men made this guy panic ffs.

Yep. Like you said YEARS of evidence and humiliations yet we’re still lining up with Pique, Busi, Umtiti, Roberto, Stegen etc.

Deserves the loss tbh when you play those lot. One or two of them is “okay”, Busi has raised his game and been the best of those by far but the rest can fuck off. Roberto is Bilbao level at best.

Btw if we lose La Liga can definitely see Laporta getting rid of Koeman despite what’s been said. He’s not going to destabilise team at this point so doesn’t matter if he’s backed Koeman.

The manner in which we’ve lost it matters, losing all big games then been given a unbelievable opportunity to go top only to lose against Granada at home. Unforgivable imo if we don’t win the title.

Too soft for Bilbao. When they see that a player from their under 16s can outmuscle him they'd tell him to do one.

After multiple years of mediocre/relatively unknown coaches, I am completely open to the idea of hiring a well known manager.

I perfectly accept it being a transitional season but all I see is the old guard getting picked whenever they're available. It's like 1 step forward 2 steps back.

I think he started the old guards (and Ilaix) today probably because he had some sort of rotation in mind, thinking today's game was a far easier game compared to the next two we will play. And it backfired, hugely and could possibly cost us the league.

Unless we can get Pep back or Klopp I won't even entertain the thought of other established coaches. I just don't think others will be an upgrade we need for some 3-5 years stability and rebuilding for a new era.

The ones that would be an upgrade are unavailable.
