How about an Alves swap for Ivanovic or Luiz? It just takes a bit of creativity. If that oaf Zubi wasnt such a dumbass we'd have already purchased a world class cb. Most forum members here could do a better job then that fool Zubi.

I'd rather want an Alves swap for Thiago Silva.
None of Luiz or Ivanovic are good enough to fix our problems IMO.

Luiz is a terrible defender. worst option for barca. Can't have two lazy center back who like to leave their lines. Luiz is slow and has weak positioning skills for a CB. Good Defensive midfielder though.

Yep. He is better when going forward, but at the back he is a disaster.

Yeah, I like Luiz a lot but no way is he worth Alves in return. Much better DM than CB.
We need a world class CB now and neither Ivanovic nor Sahko have the technical skills necessary to fit in well enough to the team. We need CBs that not only are solid defensively but are also excellent with the ball at their feet and have the ability to join the attack at anytime.

Sakho seems to be one of these fashionable names that people still trot out as he was thought to be the next big thing a few years back.
He has been terrible virtually every time I have seen him these last two seasons. In 11/12 he put in some of the worst performances I have seen at that level. Seemed to make a horrific error every time he plays
Looks like he is similar to Pique in that he would need a leader/organiser next to him to keep him in check.

Do you think Hummels-Piqué could in a way, both keep each other in check? Ramos isn't necessarily a leader-type in defense either, yet him and Pique were nearly flawless (aside from that moment of brilliance from Pirlo) last summer during Euro.
