From what I've seen of him at Celta, Barça, and Barça B, he does best further up the pitch in an attacking midfielder or wide midfielder role.

No he isnt the type of player to play deeper.

Cant see him getting much minutes at Barca either. He is a step down from other midfielders and at best is a maybe a back up for Messi.
