All these years PL fans were complaining there was no competition in LaLiga. Taste your own poison..

If Liverpool win this season, there will have been 4 different winners in 5 seasons.
If Barça win this season, there will have been 2 different winners in 5 seasons. With Barça having won 4 times.

Depends on how you look at competition.

Well, a 3-way race is good competition, isnt it?

LaLiga is still wide open and normally LaLiga was 3-way race what PL is now.

I meant this season. LaLiga is wide open. Any team could win it.

we've won 9 of the last 14, and look like making it 10 of the last 15. unbelieveable dominance considering our competition for most of that was a prime CR7/multiple CL winning real madrid and simeone's atletico :messi:

also to add to what xtroverto said, united were 1 game and a tie break away from winning the EPL 7 straight years from 06 to 13. SAF had that league figured out, front to end

4 different winners in 5 seasons simply doesn't tell the truth. If you look back at the winners it usually is a two horse race for the title. There was the Arsenal vs Man United period when they where the only winners and then it switched to a Man United vs Chelsea period and then a Man City vs Chelsea period. Leicester was the anomaly, with them not challenging once for the title otherwise. Sure, you can say that Tottenham, Liverpool are contenders, but basically they haven't won shit.

So, how do we really have too lok at competition?

It doesn't tell the whole truth, but it tells part of it.

At least if you are a fan of one the various top clubs in the Premier League you know you have a chance to win the league. In La Liga, unless you are a Barça fan, the chances are basically zero.

In La Liga, the issue is Atletico and Madrid are cup teams. They are very strong sides who could beat anybody on two legs, but don't have the discipline, the calmness and the consistency to win a competition on the long run against a rival like Barcelona.
