Adrien Rabiot

I think it would be terrific, in less than 1 year you have a 21, 22 & 23 year old core in midfield between FDJ, Arthur and Rabiot with total transfer fees <115 that can easily be recovered and have their wages covered with squad departures.

No!

If we are going to sign another player, it should be a striker or RCB. We already have enough midfielders, 3 of them will be the core for the next decade.

Who is the 3rd? Arthur can play in La Liga and looks to be Barca quality. We are confident but not assured FDJ can play in La Liga and for Barca, we would be more confident Rabiot can play in La Liga and Barca--though the ceiling isn't as high as FDJ. Sorry I would not pass on Rabiot for any other Barca/Barca B player in the midfield who is under 26. The rest are just hopefuls.

I say let Arthur, FDJ & Rabiot grow together with 1-2 senior mentors for a year or two. Every other youngish midfielder we have is a prospect, and a bonus if they sniff being Barca quality.

It all depends how we'll play next season.
If we are reverting to 4-4-2 of some kind then we could use Rabiot.

According to Paris United, it seems PSG are willing to add Rabiot into a potential deal to get Renato Sanches from Bayern.

Arthur, FDJ, and Alena

Rabiot is 23 yo and I have no doubts that Alena will be far better than Rabiot when he turns 23. We can't just buy every player out there or bend over for their huge salary demands. This model isn't sustainable. It's ok to take a risk, spend now and then, especially for a rare talent like FDJ who is the new coming of Christ in the midfield for us, but we have to take a risk on La Masia players too. What message the management is giving to La Masia if we keep buying youngsters elsewhere and don't take a risk in our own? Other clubs will continue to raid Barcelona’s La Masia, we will lose more players like Eric Garcia.

Some years ago we used to bash others for spending.

Busquets, FDJ, Arthur, Alena, Coutinho, Rakitic. Give some minutes to Riqui too.

Good post. We don't need Rabiots attitude either. He seems a bit too spoiled to play for Barca. He would be complaining sitting on bench and that's where he would spend most of his time.

If true that is quite pathetic for PSG. Sanches has failed to show his potential so many times and he is simply not worth of Rabiot plus money.

Sanches is the same age as FDJ. Stop the nonsense.

And he's flopped at Bayern, Swansea and been underwhelming back at Bayern again despite their coach Niko Kovac saying before the season he would do everything to revive his career.

Perhaps a change of scenery will do him good, but not sure you can call it a good deal if you're paying on top of giving away Rabiot. Not a DM either. B2B MF.

Sanches is a few months younger than FDJ in fact, and carried similar hype only a couple of years ago. He struggled initially but he's been solid enough for Bayern. He still has time and potential to make good on his talent.

What the hell? So any 21-22 year old player is just as promising as the next 21-22 year old? Age means everything?

Your logic is truly out of this world.

Yea, because Renato Sanches is any old 21 year old. He wasn't one of the most sought after young CM's after the 2016 Euro's. Cant even remember how he ended up at Bayern.

Potential is theroetically there but he hasn’t shown much yet. If he is that great he would have bossed at Swansea.
