Phil Foden

He's overrated just like Pedri because his player profile and style is very much in fashion. In so many years, he still isn't a starter for City. A genius like Pep still doesn't know what his ideal position is.

Foden is an absolute fraud. Stockport Iniesta they said. Hahaha.

Grealish and Maddison are clear.

Foden winning trophies is like Alvarez winning everything. No one cares.

Disagree absolutely. Foden is a huge talent.

First, he has brilliant technique and great ball control.
Secondly, he is physically strong, despite the fact that he does not have large dimensions. Works well with the body and stands well on its feet.
Thirdly, the quality of his passes is at a very high level.
Fourth, his dribbling is fine, although he rarely uses it.

Fifthly, his movement without the ball both in attack and defense is also at a good level.

Sixth, he is good at finishing. He has a good set shot.

If I were offered Foden instead of Pedri and Gavi, I would definitely go for this exchange.

Foden has played almost 200 times in the last four seasons. Basically every player under Pep at City isn’t immune to rotation and bench time.

The exception being Rodri as they have no able replacement.

Why did a Football genius like Pep admittedly fail to figure out his position in 6 years then?

Also, he isn't in City's strongest starting 11 as reflected by the biggest games last season.

And still isn't in City's strongest starting 11 and has no set position.

Like I said, it's his profile which is in fashion rn and appeals to Football fans. Short, diminutive, left footed technician=gold for casual Football fans.

This forum rated him higher than Grealish and guess what? Within a year Jack cemented his place in the starting 11 and played all the big games for City under Pep. Foden couldn't do it in 6 years despite having the "local lad" advantage.

Last season in the Premier League, he played 120 minutes less than Grealish. What are you talking about? In the 2021-2022 season, he played 2200 minutes out of 3400. And this is in the system of Pep, who is constantly experimenting.

Who started the biggest games?

And yes, I'm not a casual fan. My level of football knowledge is 10 times higher than yours. And yes, I have a job in a large football analytics company behind my back.

He isnt a starter as he has KDB ahead of him in best position but still contributes a lot.

Top players and Pep loves him.

Was brilliant last week v Newcastle for example playing a role he wont every week with KDB.

Simply because KDB and Bernardo are missing and they hadn’t replaced Mahrez .
With Bernardo fit plus Doku there he will be back as super sub

Doubt Pep starts Doku on wing and Bernardo at AM more than plays Foden until KDB back.

Will be Haaland and then Foden and/or Alvarez with him.

Silva doesnt score or assist enough to play that AM role wouldnt think.
