Phil Foden

His movement is excellent. His goal in the Club World Cup was fantastic. Saw the space for a run between the defenders and timed it perfectly. Often makes his way into dangerous positions.

Chelsea’s Palmer is everything Foden is and more

His stats are better despite playing in a struggling Chelsea team

Two more goals today plus an assist !

Playing in midfield ( number 10 role) at just 21 and scoring 1 in 2 games
If that were remotely true, then Pep would have sold Foden and kept Palmer. Or do you know better than Pep.

Foden also had two assists for the only two goals today, playing in the starting eleven in a club with the biggest competition for places in the world.

I agree.

He just needs to do it over a longer period and keep playing at this level.

Just like Pedri, Foden is massively overrated because of his player profile/playing style. Ever since Barca's golden era, casuals started fawning over every and any diminutive technician by default. As if being short makes you the next Xavi. :clown:

Anyone who doesn't see Foden's quality is blind (and I'm not someone who gives a crap about British players).

Technical
Great movement
Great shot
Great vision
Energetic and determined

Involved in both goals today, including an assist. He's just always there in key moves.
(the pre-assist pass from Oscar Bobb was brilliant, made possible by Foden's run).

That's a pre-assist quality we haven't had since hamster left.

I also think Palmer's better than Foden.

Wanted Palmer or Sane as the replacement when Dembele left. Think either would have had a massive impact on our attacking game.

Cole is simply more effective than Foden. Has more goals and assists in him. Also has that touch of arrogance about him which can make him unlikeable but also play with a certain swagger.

Really surprised Pep let him go as even out of position on City's LW, he would be miles better than Grealish.

Palmer has a lot more space to operate in than Foden does at City to be fair, he is also on penalty duty at Chelsea, which is where half of those goals come from.

Think he is very good. This season is his season. Playing really well in no 10 role. Pep's method works for Foden. Before Pep said Foden lacked of pausa/compose to play central role. Now he has improved that.

City have their Kdb's replacement.

Btw, I wonder if Pep can make a man out of Pedri. Xavi tried but no result so far.
