I see people have assembled here with the "we wasted our golden generation".

3 CLs, 5 league titles, 4-5 CDR, 2 trebles between 08 and 15 (where we had Messi, Xavi, Iniesta) is wasting a generation now? Maybe if your only criterion is CL trophies.

Madrid in their golden era won 4 CL and 1 league title in 5 years.

Pool in their golden era have won 1 CL and 1 league in 3.5 years so far.

Bayern have won 2 CL over the last 12 years of their 2 golden eras.

We had arguably the best club team of the past 25 years. Look at it this way, Spain's core was that Barca team. Without Messi, they still managed to win two Euros and a World Cup. There were some truly undeserved losses in the CL during Pep's time. Inter 2010 and Chelsea 2012. Just inches away from making it to the final and arguably having easier opponents.

That team was legendary, beating the likes of Sevilla, Bilbao, Athletico Madrid, and Villareal with a minimum of 3 goal margin.

It will be a very long time, maybe not even my lifetime, until Barca has a squad as good as Pep's Barca

Barca's team was one of the very best. Whatever way you choose to look at it. Others mentioned bellow that, if you ask me. Madrid's team, the best one among the group, doesn't come close to Barca's prime. And yet they outdone us badly in the CL. League titles are important, but that's rarely the major objecive with such a team. Valverde did well to win the league back to back, Koeman's title would be an achievement. For Pep's team, was a bare minimum. We could've gotten more out of it.

League alone isn't the objective. But European doubles and trebles, especially when they come in the mould of beating RM (or Barca for them) are worth a lot. Those show sustained and unquestioned superiority both domestically and continentally. Madrid managed that once while we managed it all 3 times.

Well I'd have to agree.
2013 was certainly more complete. The lack of Lewandowski was at least countered with Robbery, the defense is vastly superior, Neuer is still Neuer, Alaba was balling and Heynckes > Flick.
Lewandowski and Kimmich would walk into the 2013 side though, they are that good.

uff 12/13 they were superior, i dont know if Barca 2015 would have beaten them. Probably yes because of MSN, their midfield and defence were stronger i think.

What is even the point of this post? Because they won their sextuple? So? They have won one more CL than us too, where were you last year? You guys have won many more CLs than us, so? What are we supposed to do? Cry? Fill out applications to become Bayern fans and shout that mia san mia scheisse and better yet, become fucking Madridistas because they have more trophies than us?

Outdone us as a club? haha, what the heck does that mean? What are the fans of those clubs who have got less trophies or even no trophy at all supposed to do? They don't mean anything?

What a silly post.

Well, this has gone on long enough.
It looks like a silly post cause its supposed to be, its a joke.

Its not actually about trophies or club size.

i rate the 12/13 bayern team more than the current one as well. if they had this current version of lewandowski then they would have been a top 2 team of all time.

I do not know if the chemistry would be the same. Lewy and Robben never were really friends to put it mildly. Mandzukic in his way was ideal in combination with the personalities of Robbery at that time. He did not steal them the "light". M?ller even at that time was the one that tried to balance between Robben and Ribery and later Robben and Lewy.

Lewy works for the team - but only if he stays in the limelight. He overshadows Robben when it means "egoism"...

Who 2020 was better than in 2013 was M?ller. His role and responsibility - even with less goals - was different. In 2013 he was just the executor - even if his mentality and workrate was important - in 2020 he pulled the strings.

2013 Bayern was one of the best teams I have ever seen. Such class they had. A well oiled machine moving up and down the pitch with unprecedented determination after losing the final a year earlier.

Probably the best non-Barca team in terms of peak. They reached a level I have never seen outside of our Messi generation.

2020 Bayern look poor and vulnerable in comparison. They look like they can concede any moment and rely heavily on Neuer heroics.

Probably only Lewandowski and Kimmich can improve the 2013 Bayern side.

Also Muller2020 > Kroos/Muller2013.

For the rest Robben, Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Lahm >>> anything they have now.

lmao is this even a discussion? 2020 bayern doesn't even compare to 2013 bayern.

Dont see this massive difference, personally.

They may have been better, but i would like to remind people Bayern 2013 didnt actually curbstomp everyone they faced, they struggled quite a bit against Dortmund in the final, much like they struggled against PSG last final.

Finals are tough. Only Pep Barca in 2011 (especially) and 2009 made the final look like a training session because that team was at a different level compared with the others. Most of the other big teams struggle in finals. Madrid struggled every time, sometimes a lot, Bayern the same, Liverpool the same, even MSN Barca struggled vs Juve in many moments after the 1-1 and 2-1 goal.

for me the 5-0 against real in camp nou is the best footballing display that i have witnessed in my lifetime. by the way we played, i bet we would have demolished any team that night.

sextuple, trebles, titles, cups are all nice. but that masterful barcelona performance was truly something else.

When i saw the team on the pitch i knew we would win, how did i know it malvolio ? I saw the fire in their eyes, they wanted to win the match. It was like a war. Nowadays i didnt see this fire anymore. The last time i saw it was the 6-1 against PSG.
