here let me pull up the generic barcaforum excuse:
he didnt play last game so his confidence is low
How is low Confidence a Barcaforum excuse?

Did you seriously forget Roberto last season when he was in a complete rut low on confidence? or is this "Lol Low confidence is a bullshit excuse"

nah i just don't believe that he has low confidence because "lack of game time" when hes been playing once a week.

i'm not commenting todays performance because of the state of the pitch but he brings nothing in offense, needs to be instructed even by messi to make forward run

Roberto never really looked low on confidence last season. He suffered as Barcelona virtually had no right hand side on front of him and a midfield that could barely defend vs any decent team.

How is this any different to Semedo situation?

The midfield is a lot better though.

Roberto suffered defensively and did not lack any confidence going forward.

Semedo with a better structure on the right this season has done next to nothing going forward.

are we comparing sergi roberto of last season aka mr 90th+ minute big time player to the guy who needs instructions from messi to do a basic move?

there's a reason why he's a last resort for the midfield / messi to even bother looking his way, they know nothing will be produced by switching the ball to the right.

My thoughts exactly.
He is Digne with slightly more potential.
With Digne it is: what you see is what you get.
While with Semedo there are some chances that he might improve because he does have some potential.

But for now, he is Digne whom we paid 50M Euros.

Apart from what he doesn't know our system, I think that his biggest problem is a lack of courage to actually try and do something.
He seems too impressed by being a Barca's player for now.

Yeah. Semedo, Dembele and Coutinho threads the successors to the Neymar thread.

He is here for 6 Months.
Can anyone name 3 attacking wow moments from him in these 6 Months?

If you can, my apology, since I can't remember them.
When I try to look back at his 6 Months here, in attacking sense, I see only this:
1. he gets the ball somewhere in midfield, then either makes a backpass right away or runs forward, reaches the edge of a box, then stops and makes a backpass
2. or he gets a ball around a box, makes a sideway pass
3. or he gets the ball around a box, try a dribble or cross and nothing happens

I am not exaggerating, currently when Pique receives the ball around the box, I get an instant feeling: oh, oh, something might happen, Pique is always crazy in the box, has courage and often finds some good (and unexpected) solution and we can create a 1 vs 1 chance.
When Semedo gets the ball around the box or in the box, I can change a Tv channel and come back 30 seconds later because absolutely nothing will happen.
So, currently I have more faith when Pique is around a box than Semedo.
And that is just wrong.

Just my estimation: he seems scared AF for now.
He either doesn't have potential, or he has potential but he is afraid to do anything when he has the ball.
