7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

I mean they kept Suarez for a year longer than they had to; and for what? The man literally had to masticate his way to us!

And it's world cup year too! He can't prepare properly unless he's with us!

"Oh my god. They're going to take away something we have no interest in. How can they do this? This is a disaster....."

I can imagine the Liverpool transfer committee laughing their asses off when they go that email. It'll probably turn into an inside joke among the staff for at least a couple of months.

Jesus the resentment will be huge + other players will surely look at liverpool and think "I dont really want to do this to myself".

But then again Liverpool holds all the cards and can do whatever the feck they want. If that means holding on to the player when he wants to make his dream move, then its completely in their right.

Btw 95m fixed is still not enough. 100m in cash and normal variables could do.

Your board aren't doing this for no reason, so they must know Coutinho will kick up a bigger fuss and that seems to be happening. So not all as it seems.

Really if there was another month left in this window I'd be more inclined to sell but what good is the money if we cannot bring in a replacement and coupled that with the Lallana injury. So it is a big test of FSG's resolve and mettle this.

They kept him because Arsenal bid 40m and next year they sold him to us for 80m. If we came knocking instead of arsenal siarez would never had such a good year had they made him stay

I don't really see what's funny about it.
It's just our club saying there will be no 4th improved bid if liverpool was expecting that, And this is our last offer, Once it's past the deadline we'll move on to other targets (Seri in our case), And then liverpool will be stuck with a player that clearly doesn't want to be there anymore, And it's up to them to deal with the mess and the potential consequences of keeping him despite his will.

So again, I can't see the supposedly funny bit.

Liverpool told Barca not to bother with any more offers after the 2nd one, why would they "expect" another?

It's funny because Liverpool always rejected an offer immediately and never negotiated because they don't want to sell. So this deadline is not going to put press on them.

Yea this is just calling their bluff and putting pressure on Coutinho at same time. If they dont want to sell for 95+35, then they just need to say so until deadline and barca will be moving on for definite and they can keep player who, by then, likely hates their guts.

The funny part is that Barca still thinks Liverpool would sell even after FSG told them twice not to come back for him. They didn't reject the 3rd bid because of the clauses. They rejected it immediately as they have no interest in negotiating anything. Which means they are more than prepared to deal with "an unhappy player". So yeah, it was funny that Barca are threatening withdraw something that that Liverpool don't even give a shit about. But then again, no one is saying you have to laugh or even find it funny. It may not be to you, but it is to me. So I'm laughing.

Well, no one knows to be honest. That's just us almost wishing for it at this point because we're raging to not get the players we want.

Look at De Gea. He hated Manchester (the city), his GF hated it too. RM was his dream move, but it didn't happen.

He wasn't even playing with manchester anymore if you remember it. Then it failed. Then he renewed with them, and now he says he can't be more happier.

Manchester United is a better place that LFC at the moment, but it isn't the worst club ever too.

Coutinho can still get a better club next year, like suarez did last time.

I am past the rage stage, and reading this thread now just make me feel like we're just butthurt.
